The WWE Tag Team Championship has been a main focus of the WWE product ever since 1958, when they debuted whilst the WWE were known as Capital Wrestling. When looking at past champions we drew up a shortlist of 10 teams that everyone forgot that existed and won the titles.

Al Snow and Mankind

Al Snow and Mankind held the titles for 4 days at the end of 1999. They would defeat the Holly Cousins on SmackDown on November 4th 1999 and would drop the titles to The New Age Outlaws on the next episode of RAW on November 8th.

Ric Flair and Roddy Piper

Both competitors won the WWE World Tag Team championships whilst in their sixties. The Nature Boy also holds the record of oldest superstar to win the titles. They would defeat the Spirit Squad at Cyber Sunday in 2006, and would go on to lose the titles to Rated RKO eight days later.

CM Punk and Kofi Kingston

Back in 2008, CM Punk teamed up with Kofi Kingston and won the WWE World Tag Team Championships against Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes on a episode of RAW. They would hold the titles for two months before dropping the belts to The Miz and John Morrison at a WWE live event.

Brain busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard)

Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard are both remembered for being members of the Four Horsemen, but both competed in the WWF back in the late 80s, winning the Tag Titles in July 89 after defeating Demolition in a 2 out of 3 falls match at Saturday Nights Main Event. They would lose the titles to Demolition in October that year.

The Hurricane and Kane

The surprising team of The Hurricane and Kane would team up for a short space of time in September 2002 and win the Tag Titles, beating The Un-Americans Christian and Lance Storm. They would lose the titles to Christian and Chris Jericho a month later.

Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes

The current WWE Champion and AEW founder and TNT Champion were a make shift team back in 2010. They would win the Tag Titles at Night of Champions. They then lost them to our next team before breaking up shortly after the loss.

John Cena and David Otunga

Cena would be forced to join Nexus in his feud against their leader Wade Barrett and the Nexus stable. Whilst being a member, he was forced to team with David Otunga at Bragging Rights in 2010 against the team of McIntyre and Rhodes, where they would win the titles. The following night they would lose the titles to fellow Nexus members Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater.

Undertaker and Steve Austin

Building up to their highly anticipated WWF Championship match at Summerslam in 1998, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker would team up and face the WWF Tag Team Champions Kane and Mankind in the main event of Fully Loaded that year. Austin and Taker would win the titles before losing them back to Kane and Mankind in a four corners match before the Summerslam match.

The 123 Kid and Bob Holly

Before becoming his more remembered character X-Pac, Sean Waltman would team with the later known Hardcore Holly. Known as Bob Holly, these two would team up and enter a tournament to win the WWF Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble in1996. They beat Bam Bam Bigelow and Tatanka in the tournament final, but unfortunately lost the belts the next night on RAW to the Smoking Guns.

The Undertaker and The Rock

In December 2000, The Undertaker and The Rock would team up on a episode of RAW to face the WWE Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian. They would defeat the champions but lose them to Edge and Christian three days later in a rematch thanks to interference from Kurt Angle.
