AEW Fyter Fest will be aired live over a two-night special event starting on Wednesday, 1st July and continuing on Wednesday, 8th July, replacing the usual Dynamite show. Fyter Fest was meant to be held in London, UK, but due to the global pandemic, the event was moved to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Fyter Fest will be available to watch on TNT in the United States, while international viewers can watch both nights on Fite TV for a small monthly subscription fee.

Fyter Fest Night 1:

Cody won the TNT Championship at the last PPV, Double or Nothing. Since winning the belt Cody has defended the title every week on Dynamite. A few weeks ago after defeating Marq Quen, Hager made it blatantly clear that he wanted his shot at the belt. Hager and Cody have had personal issues since the beginning of the Inner Circle vs Elite feud as Hager was the one who broke Cody’s brother, Dustin’s arm.

The current AEW World Tag Team Champions, Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page will be facing off with the current number 1 contenders, Best Friends at Fyter Fest. This match could easily steal the whole Fyter Fest show as these are easily two of the best teams within professional wrestling at the moment. While these teams have not been overly feuding within AEW this won’t take anything away from the match, as the main question remains will Omega and Hangman’s troubled relationship cost them their titles.

Another title match set for Night 1 will be the AEW Women’s World Championship. The current champion Hikaru Shida will be facing off against super bad Penelope Ford. Penelope Ford has been rightfully raised to the top of the division, this may be due to a number of injuries but Ford is one of the best athletes AEW has within the women’s division. Though Penelope’s chances of winning are low, as Shida only won the belt last month this matchup should still be spectacular.

Since AEW’s beginning, there has been one stand out heel, MJF, and during Fyter Fest he will be teaming up with his powerhouse bodyguard Wardlow to continue their feud with Jurassic Express. This feud really hit a head when Jungle Boy faced off against MJF at Double or Nothing in May 2020. Hopefully, AEW can see what a winner they have with these two young stars and will continue this feud as a slow burner foreseeable future.

Another tag team match set for night 1 is Inner Circle members Proud ‘N’ Powerful who are facing Private Party, alongside their new mentor Matt Hardy. My hopes for this match is that we will start to see Proud -N’ Powerful as their own team instead of being background pieces for the Inner Circle. These are two great teams who have all the opportunities to put on a fantastic match and lets hope that is exactly what this match will be.

Fyter Fest Night 2:

Night 2 will also feature a championship match as Jon Moxley is expected to defend his AEW World Championship against the machine, Brian Cage. While this match is still scheduled it may be in jeopardy due to Moxley’s recent exposure to COVID-19. The build-up for the match between Moxley and Cage has been intense, we have seen brawls in car parks while these two try to get their hands on one another.

After being turned into a blood orange on Dynamite a few weeks ago Orange Cassidy has been looking for revenge against Chris Jericho. On Fyter Fest Night 2, he will finally get his chance as they face off in the squared circle. AEW has done a brilliant job of getting fans interested in this match, we have seen so much build-up and it has generally made me excited to see Blood Orange versus Le Champion.

Mr. Brodie Lee has repeatedly shown interested in Colt Cabana joining his cult of friends, the Dark Order. Though as of yet Colt hasn’t been fully on board with the idea, this may change at Fyter Fest though as he teams with Mr Brodie Lee and Stu Greyson to face S.C.U. This match will mark the first time all three members of S.C.U. will be working together for ages, to be frank. As we have seen Scorpio Sky focus on his singles career. This match is probably going to focus on storytelling as we see if Colt Cabana will join the Dark Order.

After his tag team partner was beaten up by the Murder Hawk Lance Archer on Dynamite last week, the bad boy Joey Janela will focus on seeking revenge for Sonny Kiss. While Joey’s chances may seem slim going against such a monster, don’t count him out just yet. This is the bad boy who has two exceptional hardcore matches against both Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. The Murder Hawk will be looking to add wins to his belt while proving to everyone he is one monster you don’t want to mess with.

A late announcement to the card was The Young Bucks & FTR versus Lucha Bros & Butcher and Blade. With such big names featuring in this matchup, it is clearly expected to be a highlight of the two-night event. We are all expecting big things. Lucha Bros only returned to AEW last week after struggling with the current travel restrictions in place. The feud between The Young Bucks and FTR has been building up for years but in this match, they will need to work together. This raises a whole question if they will be able to do this or if FTR has some tricks up their sleeves.

Another late announcement to the Fyter Fest card is that Nyla Rose will face a mystery opponent. The former AEW World Women’s Champion will seek to defeat anyone who steps in her way as she moves closer and closer to challenging Shida for the belt once again.
