So, let’s quickly address the elephant in the room. This show potentially got hit by the worst luck ever and had to deal with one of wrestling’s most petty problems, a cop caller. Screw that guy, the show went on anyway from a half-built office building in a ring with no ropes. So now, do I have your attention? Violence x Suffering announced this show a while back with a slew of cool and unique matches and the proceeds going to a good cause. We’d see Brian Cage vs JTG, the Injustice implosion, AR Fox vs Jimmy Lloyd and so much more. Let’s get into the action.
Brian Cage defeated JTG via Chair F5
When in doubt start with The Machine taking on the Urban Legend, JTG of Cryme Time. This would be one of the most interesting matches for me as it seemed so random. After the introductions commentary kicked in to reveal Emil Jay and Nick Gage in the booth. The two started with a lock-up and quickly picked up the pace trying for slams and dropkicks. Cage hit a lariat and some chops then slammed JTG into the mat. He missed a follow-up elbow drop and the action reset. Cage wrung up an arm and hit it with a leg drop. He continued to work the arm but JTG broke free with a jawbreaker and hit a sliding headbutt to the midsection. He followed up by dropping Cage with a sling blade and neckbreaker. The fight broke outside and both men took trips into the outside furniture. Cage grabbed a door and reversed a piledriver to put JTG through it with a powerslam. Cage rolled JTG into the ring and hit a knee drop and stalling Suplex for a two-count. JTG tried to swing back but got a punt kick to the face for his trouble. Cage hit the S.O.S fallaway slam and locked in a chin-lock. JTG powered out and started firing off strikes and knees. He hit a duo of clotheslines into a pop-up neckbreaker then hit a double rotation neckbreaker. He tried for a powerbomb but Cage reversed it into a sit-out Alabama Slam. He nailed JTG with a superkick and a ripcord lariat but JTG tanked it and tried for a swinging Uranage. He grabbed a chair and charged Cage but Cage grabbed him and dropped him with an F5. Cage hit JTG with the chair and then dropped JTG with another F5 onto the chair for the win. This was an excellent first bout. It had a bit of everything, technique, power, and hardcore. How can you not enjoy that? Plus, they were willing to roll with the punches fate had dealt.
Calvin Tankman defeated Homicide via Fire-Thunder Piledriver
Next up was a generation vs generation bout as the Notorious 187 Homicide took on the Heavyweight Hustle and terrifying giant, Calvin Tankman. Homicide may be a veteran but could he withstand the power of Tankman? They locked up and Tankman took Homicide to the floor. They fought for technical dominance until Homicide started manipulating joints. Homicide continued to trap Tankman in holds, working the arms and legs. They regained a vertical base and Tankman launched Homicide with an arm-drag. Tankman won a test of strength so Homicide picked an ankle but Tankman rolled through and tried for a Cross Armbreaker. Tankman rolled through a chancery and got caught in a Kimura Lock. He continued to work the arm and the pair traded chops. Homicide removed his shirt and challenged Tankman to chop him again. Tankman obliged and Homicide quickly reapplied his gear. Homicide went to the eyes and tried to hit a Tornado DDT but Tankman caught him and launched him with a slam. He continued with a pounce and hammered down Homicide. Tankman locked in an abdominal stretch and continued throwing slugs. Homicide bit Tankman’s ear and ate a judo throw. Homicide took more painful chops then went to the eyes again and started firing back with his own. The trade continued until Homicide was chopped out of the ring. He took a breather then ate a flying crossbody. They slugged it out on the mat and Homicide went back to the ankle. Homicide started trash-talking Tankman and tried for another DDT but Tankman caught him into a massive Powerslam. Homicide withstood and continued to work the leg and mixed in clothesline but he still couldn’t hit the DDT. He nearly threw Tankman into the ring post then hit a spike DDT. Homicide locked in the STF but Tankman elbowed out of it and chopped Homicide in the throat. Tankman slammed Homicide down and hit him with the running elbow but Homicide withstood again and reversed a lariat into the Gringo Cutter. They slugged it out again then Tankman stunned Homicide with a headbutt and hit a Fire-Thunder Piledriver for the win. What a match. This was amazingly dramatic, allowed to breathe, and as Calvin Tankman said he is one of the best wrestlers on the planet right now, especially with a big win like this.
Aaron Bradley defeated The Meadowlands Monster via Rear Naked Choke

The next match was a grudge match between two wrestlers I was totally unfamiliar with. Larry Legend wanted nothing to do with the Monster though so I’m guessing he lives up to his name. The Monster came out swinging but Bradley dodged and tried to bar an arm. He kicked at the Monster’s legs but his leg was caught and he was thrown into the mat. The Monster charged and ran himself into the ring post. Bradley followed by jumping on the Monster outside. They traded shots until Bradley staggered the Monster with a thrust kick. He tried to Suplex the Monster but ended up chopped and backdropped into the ring. The Monster continued with a massive clothesline and two leaping splashes. Bradley tried to chop back but the Monster levelled him again and picked him up for a DVD. Bradley elbowed out and stunned the Monster with a jawbreaker. The Monster no-sold this and dumped Bradley with a spinebuster. The Monster grabbed a chair but took his time sauntering to the ring so Bradley dropkicked it into his chest and sent him reeling. They traded on the outside and the Monster took another trip into the ring post. Bradley hit a cannonball to the outside and dropped the Monster with a running knee. He tried to follow up with Yes kicks but the Monster slapped him down. Bradley regrouped and locked in a sleeper and survived a backpack drop to lock in a rear-naked choke. Bradley overcame the odds to choke out the monster and conquer the feud.
Alex Zayne defeated Eli Everfly and Façade (w/Dani Mo) via Taco Driver to Everfly
BEST OF THE BEST!
Watch @EliEverfly @1FACADE & @AlexZayne KILL IT in this out-of-this-world “Triple Threat X-Travaganza!”#NoJusticeNoPeace pic.twitter.com/0YEuyTNP2h
— VIOLENCE X SUFFERING™ (@vxswrestling) August 17, 2020
Next up was the most interesting match due to the circumstances. How could three flippy guys handle a ring with no ropes? All three might be more than flips but when your arsenal is so heavily invested in the ropes, what do you do when they aren’t there? Everfly started things off hot by taking out both Zayne and Façade with a double hurricanrana. He posed to the crowd and got decked by a Rana from Façade as he sprang off the back of Zayne. He couldn’t take a breath as Zayne did the same to him using Everfly as a springboard. He then drilled Everfly with a forearm and Façade attacked both men with kicks, throwing in a matrix escape for good measure. He then launched Zayne testicle-first into a ring post and leapt over it to hit Zayne with a rana to the floor. Not to be outdone, Everfly launched off the post and hit Façade with a Cazadora stunner. He followed up with an around the world DDT on Façade and slugged it out with Zayne. Zayne launched him into a wall and hit an elbow to the face then Façade ran off his back, across a wall and hit Everfly with a kick to the face. He dropped Zayne with a backbreaker onto the ring and launched Everfly on top of him with a backdrop. Everfly tried to steal the pin so Façade punished him with a duo of bridging suplexes. Everfly kicked away and pissed off Façade by hitting his manager, Dani Mo with a dropkick to the face. Façade fired back by dropping Everfly on his head with a nasty piledriver. Zayne broke up the pin and started slugging it out with Façade. Everfly took advantage of the chaos and hit both men with Poisonranas, however, Mo got her own back and hit Everfly with a Poisonrana too. Everyone staggered to their feet and we got a three-way chop-fest. Zayne was targeted by multiple kicks and Façade killed Everfly with a gut wrench Tombstone. He missed a follow-up Swanton so Zayne hit him with the Baja Blast. He got Façade onto his shoulders so Everfly could drill him with double knees to the back and then ran up a downed Façade to hit Zayne with a crucifix bomb. Everfly killed off Façade with an underhook piledriver to the floor and Zayne killed Everfly with a running Crunch-wrap Supreme. Everfly tried to chop back but Zayne wrapped him into the Taco Driver for the win. This was a brutal pandemonium. There were so many dangerous spots crammed into one batshit match. Hell yeah, I loved this and all three guys celebrated together at the end. Once again, this just proves you don’t need ropes to flip and that all three guys are more than their flips.
Scramble: Nolo Kitano defeated Blake Christian, Chris Barton, Everett Cross, Sebastian Cage & TJ Crawford via Flipping Rocker Dropper (no one could name this thing) to Cage
TRIGRAMS ROTATION!!!@nolo_kitano #NoJusticeNoPeace@vxswrestling

That was followed by something even more hectic, a 6-man Violence x Suffering top prospect scramble match. Things were only intensified as it had Blake Christian in there with the VxS prospects. Most of these guys were new to me though it was nice to finally put a face to the name after hearing people talk of Nolo Kitano. Everyone went straight after the biggest guy in the ring, Barton, and got launched. He tried to dodge Kitano but got taken out by a head-scissor and sent flying. Crawford took over and hit Kitano with a kick and snap Dragon. Cross came in and slugged it out with Crawford then dispatched him with a stunner. Christian then rushed him and took him out with a Fisherman Suplex and a Fisherman driver. Cage then picked his spot and decked Christian with a kip-up kick. He then got chopped down by Barton and KO’ed with a sit-out powerbomb. Kitano re-entered and took out Barton with more kicks and drove him to the floor with a dive. Cross, Crawford, and Cage all did the same, spurred on by Christian. Kitano landed a second dive but when Cage tried to follow, he was caught and thrown at everyone else. They were knocked outside and Barton dived onto them with a cannonball. Crawford and Christian took out Barton then teed off on each other. Christian got the better and peppered Crawford with stiff kicks. Crawford fired back with a discus lariat and took out Christian with a burning hammer. Cage came after Crawford and drilled him with a super tilt-a-whirl DDT. Cross then attacked Cage with a Tenzan Driver and ate a cross-armed Falcon Arrow from Kitano. Barton rushed Kitano, urged him to hit him then drilled the Ghetto Samurai with a Suplex stunner and Lariat. Christian got rid of him with a Samoan Drop and Frog Splash but Cage kicked him away from a pin. Kitano rushed him and won the match with a flipping Rocker Dropper. This was exceptional. It did what all good scrambles should do and properly showcased the talent involved. There’s a bright future ahead for these guys.
Sin Cuerda Ultraviolento: Alex Ocean defeated Jeff King via 2K1 Bomb

As Alex DeLarge once said, nothing beats a spot of the old ultraviolence. It was time to get hardcore as Alex Ocean and Jeff King took on one another. Ocean can’t die and King seems to hate his own body so let’s see the two clash. They locked up and King quickly picked an arm. Ocean did the same but ended up getting a forearm to the face. The two traded slugs until Ocean took the lead. He continued to pepper King but quickly found himself on the receiving end of some nasty chops. King grabbed a gusset plate but Ocean was having none of it and elbowed away on king’s jaw. Ocean avoided a slam and stabbed the gusset plate into King’s chest then stuck it in his arm. King overpowered Ocean and hammered the plate into Ocean’s forehead. King dropped a hammer then threw Ocean out of the ring. The plate returned to Ocean’s face and he dragged him around ringside. He looked to charge Ocean but it was reversed into a back-body drop across the concrete floor. Ocean dragged him back inside and kicked the life out of him. He started raining down blows then hammered a pack of skewers into King’s forehead. He dropped King with a Back Suplex and psyched the crowd up with a clapping fit before hitting a kick to the knee and the Shadow Kick. Ocean covered the ring in tacks and tried to Suplex King into them but King reversed and dropped him into them with a DVD. King dumped more tacks out on the floor and tried to slam Ocean to the floor. Ocean reversed into a 2K1 bomb into the tack pile. King stayed down and looked like he’d messed his shoulder up. Props to King, you took some mad bumps yet again and I will continue to respect you for it. It’s also great to see Ocean get another win. Gage made this match all the more entertaining by continuously calling for more violence from the commentary booth.
Myron Reed defeated Jordan Oliver via Small Package

Next up was the Injustice implosion as Myron Reed and Jordan Oliver took each other on. How would they fare against one another since they know each other so well? They showed respect then went into a quick lock-up. They traded technique then Oliver bailed. They locked up again and Oliver pushed Reed to the outside. They locked up for a final time and things started to pick up as they dodged and weaved around each other. Oliver caught Reed out of a dive and hit a dropkick to the face. Both guys were down then Oliver kipped-up and the pair slugged it out. They fought to some picnic tables and Oliver dropped Reed on one with a Tombstone. Oliver tossed him back into the ring and hit a Snap Suplex. Reed slapped back and was hit with a kick to the face. Oliver kept kicking until Reed powered up and slugged it out again. They fought around a Suplex until Oliver tripped Reed and hit him with a running dropkick. He continued kicking Reed in the chest then brought him crashing down with a double underhook Suplex into an armbar. Reed escaped and stomped on Oliver’s chest and face. This broke down and both men were down on the mat again. Reed popped up first and launched Oliver to the outside then drilled him with a matrix kick. He hit Oliver with a dive and hit a tope on the other side. He dumped Oliver down and hit a low superkick but Oliver powered up and sent Reed flying. He continued with a ripcord superkick and dropped Reed with a Falcon Arrow. Reed hit a Suplex stunner and backed Oliver into a Poisonrana then dived over the ring post onto him outside. The chest protector came off and the pair traded chops. Oliver clipped Reed with a kick into a bridging Tiger Suplex then hit a diving cutter outside. He tried to plant Reed with a driver but Reed rolled him up into a small package for the win. These two went to war in the best possible way. The best of friends make the best of enemies when the time comes. We got some surprising sportsmanship and respect from Jordan Oliver to round out the segment.
Jimmy Lloyd defeated AR Fox via Catch Piledriver
.@TheJimmyLLoyd with a flatliner!#VxS #NoJusticeNoPeace @vxswrestling

Last but not least, the main event. AR Fox, an indie darling and outright legend taking on one of indie wrestling’s brightest, Jimmy F’N Lloyd. This might be one of Lloyd’s toughest challenges yet as Fox isn’t just good, he’s insane. We even got streamers for this one. Lloyd tried to go low but Fox caught him and rolled him into a sunset flip. They traded pinfalls went through a chain of reversals until they both tried for dropkicks. Both kipped-up and entered a standoff. Lloyd rocked Fox with an enzuigiri then ate a kick to the head and a jawbreaker/neckbreaker combo. Fox then hit a shotgun dropkick to the outside and hit a massive running splash. Lloyd then hit back with a Suplex on the concrete but had his arm run into the ring post. Fox kicked Lloyd in the back of the head, then got stunned as Lloyd cleared of a refreshments table. He came back for Fox but Fox kicked a chair into his balls and tried to powerbomb Lloyd through the table but ate a knee instead and kicked Lloyd onto the table. Fox put the table over Lloyd and hit an elbow drop onto it. He continued kicking Lloyd in the face until Lloyd captured him with a pop-up powerbomb and rolled him into a rolling elbow. He continued with the Baron Corbin Shit (thanks Gage) and a Tiger Driver. Lloyd tried to follow up but Fox escaped a neckbreaker and a cutter and hit him in the head again. Lloyd caught Fox with a twisting Suplex and both men went down. They traded more kicks then Fox sent Lloyd flying with a superkick. He followed Lloyd outside with a Tope con Hilo and ran him into the ring post. He then backed up and hit Lloyd with a leapfrog con Hilo over the ring post. Fox tried for a rolling cutter then kicked down Lloyd, stomped his hand, and hit Lloyd with a combo of cutters. Lloyd captured Fox off the ring post into a Tombstone and followed with a wheelhouse kick into a Dragon Suplex and Package Piledriver. Lloyd got a chair and tried to charge Fox but Fox caught him into a DDT on the chair. Fox set the chair on Lloyd and with the assistance of the ref, hit a Swanton onto the chair. Fox hit another kick into the chair and tried to hit a cutter off it but Lloyd caught him into a piledriver for the three-count. This was excellent. It’s nice to see Jimmy get to show off his wrestling skills and to give him AR Fox too, was exceptional. This felt like the main event and it certainly delivered.

So, there you have it, VxS No Justice, No Peace reviewed for your reading pleasure. Despite the circumstances, this was an awesome show. It adapted to a BS situation and still managed to put on a fun show with most of the talent and passionate fans. The no rope stipulation added a flavour of challenge to certain matches and it’s always nice to see wrestling being done for a good cause. The random Gage commentary cracked me up and as I said the matches were pretty damn fun to watch. It’s still on FITE if you want to see the action for yourself, which I actually recommend you do, some of it has to be seen to be believed. Also during this show, Homicide raised attention to a very sad fact. R.I.P Xavier.
