WWE and Mauro Ranallo have mutually and amicably agreed to part ways.

Mauro’s passion and enthusiasm left an indelible and exciting mark with WWE and its fans, and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.

Nine days ago, at NXT TakeOver: XXX, we missed his legendary “Mamma Mia,” same last Wednesday as Wade Barrett joined Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix to do the commentaries of this episode. Mauro Ranallo was said to be in Canada, that’s all we knew until a few minutes ago when WWE put online this announcement. Since 2017, Ranallo had been THE voice of NXT, transcribing in passionate words the in-ring action.

There’s no word yet on what will happen to the NXT commentary team, which currently consists of Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix. Wade Barrett did guest commentary last week and will return for more guest commentary on this week’s NXT Super Tuesday special. Barrett is said to be negotiating a full-time contract with WWE to do NXT and NXT UK commentary.
