AEW and Tony Khan have confirmed a change to the main event of tonight’s AEW Dynamite. What was originally scheduled to be a six-man tag match pitting Lance Archer, Ricky Starks, and Brian Cage against the team of AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, and Will Hobbs has now been changed to an AEW World Title match between Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston.

This change has happened because Lance Archer has tested positive for COVID 19. He confirmed this through a tweet explaining how he had been exposed to the virus through a family friend and had gotten sick whilst he was at home. He assured fans he was okay and will be back in two weeks.

Moxley announced he would defend the title on Dynamite and Khan confirmed the match against Kingston. This makes sense as Kingston has continuously gone after the results of the Casino Battle Royal at All Out that saw Archer named challenger and staked his claim to the title. Within minutes of Moxley tweeting, Kingston had responded challenging him to the match.

This joins the line-up of:

  • TNT Title: Brodie Lee vs Orange Cassidy
  • AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida & NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa vs Ivelisse & Diamanté
  • Miro & Kip Sabian vs Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss
  • Matt Hardy & Private Party will speak
  • Chris Jericho appears live.
