Unless you don’t know, WWE Draft began on Friday and The New Day are officially split now. Since Friday, rules have changed and we come to Day Two with already new people in town and a new pool of picks. Let’s get right to the action but, before that, let’s rewind a little…

A Little Day One Summary

RAW Picks

  • Drew McIntyre (WWE Champion)
  • Asuka (RAW Women’s Champion)
  • The Hurt Business
  • AJ Styles
  • Naomi
  • Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (Women’s Tag Team Champions)
  • Ricochet
  • Mandy Rose
  • The Miz and John Morrison
  • The New Day (Kofi & Xavier Woods – SmackDown Tag Team Champions)
  • Dana Brooke
  • Angel Garza
  • Humberto Carrillo
  • Drew Gulak
  • Tucker

SmackDown Picks

  • Roman Reigns (Universal Champion)
  • Seth Rollins
  • Sasha Banks
  • Bianca Belair
  • Jey Uso
  • Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
  • Big E
  • Otis
  • Murphy
  • Kalisto
  • Shorty G

With that in mind, I think we can start to re-do the match, as we say in my country…

Randy Orton Has Something To Say (First Round)

Wherever he is going to be drafted, he will become Champion at Hell in a Cell like he was supposed to at SummerSlam and Clash of Champions. He pinned Drew after hitting an RKO, so this time will be a charm. McIntyre came for the traditional “mine is bigger than yours.” Yes, Randy pinned him, but he didn’t kick him in the skull when he had the opportunity to. McIntyre made his way to the ring to kick the hell out of Orton. They brawled in and out the ring, they almost destroyed the announcer table in the first 10 minutes of the show. Orton fled.

WWE CBO Stephanie McMahon was backstage and was given the first-round picks.

  • RAW pick: The Fiend Bray Wyatt
  • SmackDown pick: Bayley (SmackDown Women’s Champion)
  • RAW pick: Randy Orton
  • SmackDown pick: The Street Profits (RAW Tag Team Champions)
  • RAW pick: Charlotte Flair

Analysis – With The New Day going to RAW, it sounded logic to draft The Street Profits on SmackDown. Champions are swapped and everybody’s is perfect in Vince McMahon’s world. The Fiend traded to RAW is not really a surprise. OK, I’m the news girl here so I read a load of news and rumours and spoilers every day. So yes, I was not surprised.

No Disqualification Match: Kevin Owens defeated Aleister Black

What did they all have against the announcer table? Kevin Owens didn’t break it too. It was vicious, violent, with tables and chairs… The Meteora from Black on Owens laying on four chairs is just a marvel. Owens picked up the win when he threw Black through a table. These two in a Cell would make some pure magic…

A Blonde Story (Second Round)

  • RAW pick: Braun Strowman
  • SmackDown pick: Daniel Bryan
  • RAW pick: Matt Riddle
  • SmackDown pick: Kevin Owens
  • RAW pick: Jeff Hardy

Analysis – An interesting round with 4 trades. Strowman to RAW is not a surprise as he just started a feud with Keith Lee. I was suspecting Kevin Owens would go to SmackDown but the reason for me remains unknown. When it comes to Hardy and Riddle, they could become legit Tag Team contenders, as they showed it on SmackDown last week.

The Dirt Sheet on USA

New RAW Superstars The Miz and John Morrison brought out their guests – Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke. There’s some tension between Rose and Miz to start out, over what happened with Otis. Miz asked Brooke and Rose about going for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles and then tried to stir the pot over tonight’s #1 Contender Battle Royal. Rose said may the best women win tonight’s Battle Royal. Natalya and Lana came to say why they should be interviewed, not Rose and Brooke. Rose told them to focus more on training instead of Tik Tok and maybe they could win a match. They brawled.

John Morrison became the new featured guest for The Miz until Lars Sullivan arrived. Miz escaped and Morrison got destroyed. Miz backed off to the ramp while Lars continued to destroy Morrison. Lars lifted Morrison and launched him with a Freak Accident as Miz looked on. How The Miz will justify his attitude to his friend? The dog ate my homework, forget about that one…

The New Day and The Street Profits switched title belts. Huge lack of creativity there. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler were not happy. Me too.

The Beauty and The Beast (Third Round)

  • RAW pick: RETRIBUTION
  • SmackDown pick: Lars Sullivan
  • RAW pick: Keith Lee
  • SmackDown pick: King Corbin
  • RAW pick: Alexa Bliss

Analysis – Nothing special to say about that round. Of course, no Fiend without Alexa…

A Messiah Goodbye…

Rollins just wanted to soak it all in for a minute because tonight was the end of an era. He was thrilled to take his talent to Friday night but he had to acknowledge how different of a moment this is for all the wonderful fans of RAW. They booed him. Rollins talked about how RAW is losing a champion and the best leader they’ve ever had. He said there is no one to fill his shoes, especially not Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio as they are headed to SmackDown with him. New RAW Superstar Jeff Hardy interrupted him. Rollins said he appreciates Jeff’s enthusiasm but he was trying to find a leader and that’s not him. Seth asked Jeff to get the hell out of his ring. Jeff went on about how this is his ring now. Rollins said Jeff should be focused on his match with Lars Sullivan this Friday. He wished Hardy good luck and said he will need it. Rollins was about to exit when new RAW Superstar AJ Styles addressed Hardy. Rollins came from behind and had words with him. Hardy sent him into the barrier first. Hardy came out and sends AJ into the barrier. Well, they brawled…

AJ Styles defeated Jeff Hardy and Seth Rollins when Elias hit Hardy with his guitar

Yes, he’s back. Why did he target Hardy? If it’s for the car accident, Elias should read the news more often.

Red is Dead (Fourth Round)

  • RAW pick: Elias
  • SmackDown pick: Sami Zayn (Intercontinental Champion)
  • RAW pick: Lacey Evans
  • SmackDown pick: Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro
  • RAW pick: Sheamus

Analysis – With the US belt on RAW, it was normal for the IC title to stay on SmackDown. Sheamus is a good pick for RAW. With new teams coming to SmackDown, Nakamura and Cesaro will have new feuds to build.

Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose defeated Natalya & Lana

Natalya let Lana down after their loss.

MVP told Ricochet if he wins tonight’s match against any member of The Hurt Business, the feud is done and they go their separate ways. If he loses, he will join The Hurt Business.

Angel Garza defeated Andrade

Zelina Vega was on commentary. After the match, she entered the ring to check on Andrade but the red lights came up and we hear the menacing sounds of The Fiend all over the arena. Alexa Bliss appeared in the corner instead, turned upside down like Bray Wyatt. Vega and Andrade were shocked. The Fiend suddenly appeared behind Andrade. The Fiend grabbed Andrade while Bliss grabbed Vega. They dropped them with Sister Abigails at the same time in the middle of the ring. Bliss and The Fiend stared at each other down. Magic…

Viva La Raza (Fifth Round)

  • RAW pick: Nikki Cross
  • SmackDown pick: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
  • RAW pick: R-Truth
  • SmackDown pick: Apollo Crews
  • RAW pick: Dabba-Kato

Analysis – The Hurt Business lose one of his favourite punching bags in Apollo Crews. Nothing else to say.

The New Day defeated Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler to retain the RAW Tag Team Championship

The duo of Kofi and Xavier Woods was just excellent.

Elias joked about his new single and album, and how he got payback on Jeff Hardy. Elias recalled the car accident on SmackDown months ago and says it wasn’t his time to go give a concert to the big man in the sky. Elias announced that his new album “Universal Truth” is coming out on October 26. He then announced that we will celebrate his RAW return next week with a concert. He says it will be unforgettable, especially for Hardy. Can someone please tell him it was Sheamus?

Ricochet defeated Cedric Alexander via DQ when he let the referee think Cedric used a chair on him.

Pure Eddie Guerrero… Well done, Ricochet.

Excuse me? (Sixth Round)

  • RAW pick: Titus O’Neil
  • SmackDown pick: Carmella
  • RAW pick: Peyton Royce
  • SmackDown pick: Aleister Black
  • RAW pick: Akira Tozawa

Analysis – Nothing to say… Aleister Black and Kevin Owens will be able to continue their slugfest and quite strangely, that makes me happy…

Dual Brand Battle Royal to Determine New #1 Contender to RAW Women’s Champion Asuka: Lana defeated Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Natalya, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Bianca Belair, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Tamina Snuka, Lacey Evans and Nikki Cross

If only it was a joke… Natalya and Lacey were the last two but because Nia Jax put Lana through the announce table with a Samoan Drop (this time, the table broke), for the fourth time in recent weeks, Lana has never been eliminated. To make forget this anomaly, WWE put the spotlight on Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton still brawling in the ringside area from the back now. Officials rushed in to separate them but they kept fighting. Orton and McIntyre were finally separated as RAW went off the air.

Supplemental RAW Talk Round

  • RAW pick: Lana
  • RAW pick: Riddick Moss
  • RAW pick: Arturo Ruas
  • SmackDown pick: Natalya
  • RAW pick: The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan)

Supplemental Twitter Draft

  • RAW pick: Erik
  • SmackDown pick: Billie Kay
  • SmackDown pick: Tamina Snuka
  • SmackDown pick: Zelina Vega
  • RAW pick: Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado

In summary…

The episode was a bit messy because of the Draft, but it wasn’t that bad. Draft wise, WWE quite simply took the best of SmackDown and put it on RAW with the hope that would work like it had been working on Friday. I have a major doubt on that. They also split one of the best tag teams the company has had in a decade. It was meant to happen one day, but it hurt… Don’t forget that, if the Draft is over, the trading has not started yet…
