Welcome back to ChocoPro Wrestling and the start of a Golden Week. We will have five back-to-back shows which means we’ll have five back-to-back reviews. Today’s show is a one-match war between the forces of good and evil, though you can argue which side is which. It would be Best Bros pairing up with Egg Tarts against the full might of the Pencil Army. This would be Lulu Pencil’s full assembly coming to fight and show this army can actually win. It was all on the line here. It would be the promotion’s first 8-person war and it was going to be a fight that would cement who was really Pencil Army. Let’s get into this 45-plus minute epic.

Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) & Egg Tarts (Chie Koishikawa & Hagane Shinno) defeated Pencil Army (Lulu Pencil, Emi Sakura, Minoru Fujita & Chris Brookes) via Stretch Muffler to Pencil

Who’s ready for pure chaos? This was going to be the most frantic match in ChocoPro history. Eight fighters were going to be battling out on the Chocolate Square with three different groups being represented. When the introductions were done and Brookes had thoroughly insulted Suruga enough, we got surprisingly zero sportsmanship and Pencil started the fight against Koishikawa, the woman she’d been trying to recruit. They battled around wrist-locks with Koishikawa taking Pencil on a run before fighting off a Guillotine and stomps to a stalemate. Koishikawa jumped over a Pencil Roll and delivered the rolling leg drop to lock in the Bow and Arrow. Pencil fought up and reapplied the Guillotine but Koishikawa turned it into a side headlock. Pencil stabbed free and we reached a second stalemate. Next in were Shinno and Sakura, who wasted no time in shunting the other around. Sakura proved she could dodge Shinno’s kicks and the pair fought over wall whips. Sakura raked him with her nails and splashed his arm against the wall. Shinno tried to kick back and turned Sakura’s reversal into a Sleeper. He tried to go for a kill shot but Sakura launched him with a Hurricanrana and fell to the floor in fear when a kick fired him up. The rivalries continued as the next pair entered, Brookes and Suruga. The pair locked up and Brookes mockingly threw her to the mat. He continued to torture Suruga with some holds and tried to break an arm. Suruga jump-scared him into the window-sill arm-drag and gave him some mocking head pats. She gave him a second scare and tried to trip him into a pin but Brookes turned it into an ankle lock. He threw Suruga out of the window and got a shock when she vanished.

She reappeared in the other window and hit him with a cushion but he countered the follow-up swing and trapped her in the winch. He grabbed a mop and hit her like a pinata, offering the mop to Fujita to take a swing but he chose to try and tase Suruga instead. Akki booted this away and helped Suruga to free herself. Brookes was quickly back on the attack though and trapped her in a Boston Crab. Sakura tagged back in and threw Suruga by the hair and smashed her off the wall with a giant swing. Fujita was in next and stabbed Suruga in the head with a pencil before breaking her fingers with it too. Pencil tagged in and stabbed Suruga with a giant pencil, then left her mark by drawing on her leg. It cycled back to Brookes and she finally lost her temper, unloading on him with forearms. She tripped him a second time and locked in the Bridging Deathlock. Brookes tried to escape by pulling her hair but Akki stopped this and the hold went on. She tagged in Koishikawa who unleashed Demon Chie for a soul-stealing chop. The problem is Brookes is soulless and the chop didn’t affect him. He downed her with a chop and mocked the Demon with a pin forcing Shinno to make the save. Sakura came in to play but Koishikawa kicked her away and swam into the sink. Sakura prevented a tag and threw Koishikawa to Fujita who locked in a Cravat. He kneed her in the face, then snapped her over for a dropkick to the back of her head. A chain of Sleeper holds broke out leaving Brookes without a place to stand so he dropkicked them all. He tagged himself in and trapped Koishikawa in the Muffler. He cut off her escape with a straightjacket but she touched the wall with her foot. Pencil came back in to choke her out but Koishikawa chopped to freedom and hit her with a Demon chop.

It was Shinno’s turn to play. He splashed Pencil against the wall and reversed a leg whip into a pin. Akki got his first tag of the match and dropped a knee across her legs. The two teams played tug of war with Pencil’s body and Akki chopped her heart out. Pencil whipped him into the wall and dropkicked his knees, then brought in Fujita who went forearm wild on Akki. He woke up and a strike-fest broke out between the pair. Akki tied Fujita in a knot and nailed him with the Spider for a two-count. Fujita clipped Akki with an Enzuigiri but couldn’t follow up as Akki flapjacked him into a Deathlock. Fujita escaped so Akki flattened him with a Swanton and rocked him with the wall-run head kick. Fujita floored him with a clothesline and both tagged out. Suruga and Sakura came in and Sakura instantly got a scare into a wall bounce. She attacked the rest of the Pencil Army, then smashed Sakura with a sponsor sign. Brookes cut her off and the whole Pencil Army pulled the mat out from under her. Brookes tried to be a dick but Suruga wasn’t staying down and caved in his chest with a Cazadora double stomp. She tagged and Brookes chopped the soul out of Koishikawa, tanking every chop she gave him. She demanded another but it was a ruse and Brookes ended up chopping Shinno’s boot. Both Egg Tarts chopped him down but Pencil made the save and Brookes helped her hit a double team slam. They crushed Koishikawa with the roll/senton combo and she fired back with a bitchslap into a dropkick. She tagged in Akki and the Best Bros tried the crossbody combo but Brookes dodged and double stomped Suruga. He trapped Suruga in a box and baited Akki into kicking it before trying a crafty jackknife. Brookes hit the nose breaker and a screw Enzuigiri, then Best Bros took him out with a Cazadora knee/Stomp combo. Sakura tried to assist but she and Brookes both got taken out by wall-run cross-bodies. Sakura whipped both into the wall and tried to throw Pencil into the wall for We Will Rock You but the Best Bros dodged. The bodies continued to pile up against the wall until everyone but Sakura was there. She hit a very bad splash and everyone hit her for it. Brookes attacked everyone and showed her how to do it, nailing everyone with the splash.

After that chaos, Akki and Brookes had a ChocoPro barfight. The two bludgeoned each other half to death as Akki lost his temper and Brookes hit a sickening high knee into a table dropkick. Shinno tagged himself in and worked with Akki to light up Brookes with kicks. Fujita tagged in and Shinno locked him in a double armbar. Fujita turned it into a neck crank and moved to the ankle. Shinno did the same and Fujita took a kicking to hit the Exploder. Sakura tagged in and tried to hit the Tiger Driver but Koishikawa saved him and the Egg Tarts hit a double pin. Koishikawa got the tag and unleashed a barrage of dropkicks and Shinno jumped in to assist when Sakura downed her with a chop. Shinno went to the window so Fujita and Pencil held him in place so Brookes could handspring kick him out of the window. Pencil was thrown into a Tornado DDT on him to the outside wall and Sakura hit Koishikawa with the Tiger Backbreaker. The Army formed a chariot for Pencil and Best Bros helped Shinno create a Megazord with Koishikawa at the helm. The two units charged but Brookes spoiled the fun by booting the Megazord down. Sakura and Koishikawa traded more chops, then Suruga got the tag and dropkicked Sakura into Fujita. He tagged in and blasted her with forearms but ran into another roll-up. He kicked out and went into a counter war with Suruga until Akki threw Suruga at him for a Hurricanrana. They tried for a diving combo but Suruga was trapped on the sink and Akki hit the mat on the Namaste Splash. Suruga kicked back and stabbed through Fujita with a double stomp. She bounced him off the wall and took a wall charge herself as he got pissed off. He broke her in half with a spear and ate another double stomp for dodging the Super Mei punch.

Koishikawa relieved Suruga of duty and threw Fujita with an arm drag into a Guillotine. Brookes broke up the hold and fights broke out everywhere as the match fully descended into chaos. A standoff led to another round of fights as Koishikawa led the charge. Both teams got knocked down either by forearms or Pencil charges and the Pencil Army looked to hit a four-way Stabber but they got battered down from their perches. We got a murder spree as everyone was slowly taken out, most notably Fujita who ate the Royal Dolphin Press. Brookes spoiled their fun with a Shoop Cutter over Akki and drilled Akki with the Praying Mantis Bomb. He willed Pencil back to life and she took the stomps and chops to Koishikawa. The Wall whip trip followed and nearly got the win with a La Magistral chain. Koishikawa would not stay down and tanked Pencil’s clotheslines to throw her away. Brookes attacked from behind and threw Pencil into a clothesline but it still wasn’t enough. Koishikawa snapped to life and pummelled Pencil with chops, scoring a near-fall with a diving X Chop and locked on the Muffler. Brookes tried to save her but Koishikawa dragged her away and Pencil had no choice but to tap. Chie Koishikawa had been the hero of this match and the person to vanquish the leader of the Pencil Army. This match had taken its toll on everyone and delivered a 47-minute epic. This was one of the best matches I’ve ever seen from ChocoPro and a real spotlight moment for Koishikawa and Pencil. Post-match, Brookes killed any happiness in the room by verbally chopping Pencil down harder than anyone had hit her in the match. He tore up his hat and left Pencil Army, disgusted Pencil would quit and tore down the whole Pencil Army on his way out. That was just Show One of this Golden Week… It set the bar incredibly high. ChocoPro #111 will see two new debuts as Yuko Sakurai of AWG debuts against Tokiko Kirihara, Chie Koishikawa teams up with Waka Tsukiyama against Emi Sakura, and Sayuri, and in the main event, Best Bros will do battle with the FREEDOMS Tag Team champions Minoru Fujita and Rina Yamashita. That is going to be mental.
