In Your House was a major event for WWE in the 1990s, holding 27 total themed events and featuring some of the most memorable matches in WWE history. The return of the event was a play on the fact that NXT was no longer on the road, and instead, it would be in the houses of fans around the world.
The inaugural NXT TakeOver: In Your House event aired on June 7, 2020, with the iconic stage and presentation that made it a massive hit. The event saw Io Shirai win the NXT Women’s Championship in the main event against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, as well as Adam Cole successfully defend his NXT Championship for the final time against The Velveteen Dream in a Last Chance Backlot Brawl.
