WWE has announced that the Hell in a Cell Match between Rey Mysterio and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be happening on Friday Night SmackDown instead of Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. To say that this news took everyone by surprise would be an understatement because of how important this match was in the PPV card.
Rey Mysterio took to Twitter tonight to write that he wanted to have the match tomorrow. Reigns responded, “Sunday. Friday. Any day,” said Reigns. “Makes no difference to me.” Reigns also assured that his Special Counsel, Paul Heyman, would handle the paperwork before the show.
It’s not the first time a Hell in a Cell match takes place out of PPV. In June 1998, on RAW, The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin faced off Mankind and Kane in a Tornado Tag match in the Cell. The questions now are multiple. Will Roman Reigns defend on PPV? If so, against who? Is another match planned if no title defence scheduled? One thing is sure, tomorrow’s episode of SmackDown is meant to be epic.
Sunday. Friday. Any day.
Makes no difference to me.It'll be my pleasure to disgrace what's left of your family name tomorrow night inside Hell in a Cell!
My Special Counsel @HeymanHustle will handle the paperwork.
I’ll PERSONALLY handle the warfare! @WWE #Smackdown https://t.co/DSzd33gluA
