Right here, right now. Happy Day 175 of 2021. We are reaching the end of the first half of the year… Episode 25 of the year 2021. And the beat goes on, the wind of change is ready to fly again. Right here, right now. Keep your feet firmly stuck in the ground, the wind of change so easily turns into a tornado…
On the menu this week, from Nashville, Tennessee, Rohit Raju and Shera will face off Trey Miguel and Petey Williams. Rosemary and Kiera Hogan will square off while Deonna Purrazzo will compete against her former friend, Susan. Eddie Edwards with team up with NJPW’s own Satoshi Kojima. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

D’Lo Brown and Josh Mathews (Matt Striker will be back soon) were on commentary. On ‘Before The Impact’, TJP and Fallah Bahh defeated Decay (Black Taurus and Crazzy Steve).

  • Don Callis and Kenny Omega entered the arena but Callis got blocked by security. He is not an EVP anymore so he was asked to leave. He snapped and let himself in.

  • Rosemary defeated Kiera Hogan w/ Tasha Steelz. Steelz interfered during the match, so Havok came to solve the problem and support her “friend.”
  • Backstage, Chris Bey told Gia Miller, although the X-Division roster is forming alliances ahead of their Ultimate X matchup at Slammiversary, he refuses to join anyone’s group. Petey Williams and Trey Miguel informed Bey that he better learn to take a side now or go in that match the lone wolf with everyone after him.

  • Backstage, Tommy Dreamer told Gia Miller he hates to be the one to have delivered that bad news, but it’s what’s best for business. EVP Scott D’Amore came into the frame and thanked Dreamer for being so professional last week. Dreamer revealed that Anthem has asked him to stay on as a consultant. D’Amore was wowed by this.

  • Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Susan w/ Kimber Lee. After the match, Purrazzo locked Susan in the Venus de Milo. Kimber Lee ran in to put a stop to this. Purrazzo screamed out at Lee that she is done with both of them and retreated up the ramp.
  • At Swinger’s Palace, TJP and Fallah were playing when Willie Mack and Rich Swann made their way in to make some money. Bahh was curious if Swann and Mack are back to being a tag team again. Swann informed them that they never stopped being a tag team. Then, both teams started to out-talk each other on who deserves to become the next contenders for the World Tag Team Championship. They thought they should battle it out next week.

  • Backstage, Don Callis found Tommy Dreamer and told him he has no hard feelings towards Dreamer for firing him last week. Callis thought Anthem did a good job picking Dreamer as the new EVP. Callis wanted to run an idea on him. He thought Omega and The Good Brothers should face three guys Dreamer thinks would be a great pairing for his guys. He was looking forward to their Team Callis versus Team Dreamer matchup.

  • Rohit Raju & Shera defeated Petey Williams & Trey Miguel. After the match, Ace and Fulton looked to take Trey and Petey out but Josh Alexander came for the save. Chris Bey appeared on the ramp but instead of helping, decided to film himself by the action. Rohit, Shera, Fulton, and Ace stood tall as Bey watched on.
  • Backstage, Gia Miller came to talk to Tommy Dreamer and Sami Callihan on if Callihan will be joining his team next week. Callihan said if this allows him to throw a few shots in and foretell what he’s going to do to Kenny Omega at Slammiversary, then he’s in. Moose walked into the frame and said he’s in, too. It looked like Dreamer found two of the best on Impact to represent him. Dreamer revealed that he is not the third member, and Moose may not be happy with who is (I bet it’s Chris Sabin…).

  • Rachael Ellering came to the ring and got emotional, reflecting on her past and relating to Jordynne’s frustration. She mentioned Tenille causing Jordynne to blow up on her. Jordynne threatened Rachael that if she mentions her one more time, she will drop her. Jazz made her return as she noticed Jordynne’s unwillingness to patch things up and suggested that she gets over it. Rachael apologized once more and offered to move past this for the last time. Jordynne left, saying she needs more time to think. Tenille Dashwood appeared, asking to team up with Rachael again. Rachael shut it down before she gets started and they brawled. Rachael and Jazz took Tenille and Kaleb out as they headed to the back.

  • Backstage, Brian Myers was still giving Sam Beale pointers on how to be the best pro wrestler out there. Beale has a match just next.
  • Jake Something defeated Sam Beale w/ Brian Myers. Something focused on Myers as he was staying on the ramp. After the match, Myers wanted Sam Beale to take notes on Jake Something, who he calls an unprofessional wrestler for “bringing in a steel chair.”

  • Backstage, Swann and Mack came to support Kojima and Eddie before their match.

  • Violent by Design (Joe Doering & Deaner) defeated Satoshi Kojima & Eddie Edwards to retain the IMPACT World Tag Team titles. Rhino interfered.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

– Violent by Design (Joe Doering & Deaner) vs Satoshi Kojima & Eddie Edwards

Kojima showed some fire against Deaner but Doering distracted him from the apron. They took advantage of this and cut off the ring. Doering clubbed the back of Kojima. Doering grounded Kojima with a chinlock and hammering blows. Kojima powered him up for a suplex allowing him to get the tag. Eddie came in with energy and hit a huge Blue Thunder Bomb on Deaner. Kojima and Eddie hit double dives. Back from the break, Eddie was in full control, chopping Deaner down in the corner. Rhino distracted the ref as Deaner regained control with some help from Doering. VBD left Eddie downed in their corner, using frequent tags and impactful moves.

Eddie gained separation and grabbed the tag. Kojima came in with a flurry of chops, with Eddie joining. Eddie snapped Deaner over with a hurricanrana from the top. Kojima dropped an elbow. Deaner looked for a headbutt but whiffed. Eddie got the tag but Doering came in with a crossbody. Deaner hit a headbutt. Eddie rolled up Doering and almost won it. Doering floored both Edwards and Kojima with a double lariat. Superkick/Koji cutter combo set up a Boston Knee Party attempt countered by a Revolution Bomb for the win for VBD.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

I was unable to count how many times Josh Mathews said, “23 nights away from Slammiversary…” Unless Josh Mathews is waiting for Santa Claus, and so he will have to wait more than 23 nights, we know, we already bought it on Fite TV, we are thinking of our cheat meals and drinks for that night. Don’t worry, Josh, we’ll be there…

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts/Awards of the Week

– Tommy Dreamer

For everything we have seen of Tommy Dreamer over the last 30 years, the blood, the sweat, the toys, there’s a major question that is running in my mind. Now as “Corporate” Tommy, my question is, suit and tie or tracksuit?

Slammiversary

The PPV is in 3 weeks, no more matches announced, a few teased, but still these 3 matches enough to make us want to watch it…

To be eNYGMAtic…

A first impression is not always a good one… When I watched the show live on Thursday night , I was so absolutely tired and stressed I found it long and not as good as last weeks. This review comes late because I felt I missed something. And I was right. I watched the show another time, with a more peaceful state of mind. And this episode was a good one. It was a build-up one, made to settle Tommy Dreamer as a Consultant EVP and also pave the Road to Slammiversary.
The biggest lesson we can retain from this episode is this Slammiversary is going to be very special. There’s a feeling, an intensity I couldn’t describe but I think we all are feeling. We are lucky to watch Satoshi Kojima in the Impact Zone, which is a treat. All eyes are on the X-Division again which is totally normal, knowing the history of the company. We’ll see that in 21 nights…
On this “Nygma Is Human” note, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, go get vaccinated, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
