Welcome back to VxS Wrestling. It’s been a while since we covered the wildest indie companies around and now, they’re back for season two. They also plan on starting strong based on the card they’d put together. Mosh Pit Killaz was bursting at the seams with dream matches and unique match-ups all given the VxS flare. In this card we’d see, Brian Cage vs Shane Mercer, Masha Slamovich vs Daniel Garcia under pure rules, KTB vs Kevin Blackwood and so much more leading to the main event where Davey Richards took on the new ace of VxS, Jordan Oliver. Things were going to get wild. Let’s get into it.
Gabriel Skye defeated Grim Reefer via Roll-up
After an opening mosh pit musical opening, the show went into a battle of the high flyers. Gabriel Skye was out to prove a point about his skills and how he’d surpassed a legend in Grim Reefer. Now he was going to have to contend with an angry master of high style. Skye was absolutely relentless in this one, hitting athletic kicks and dives until Reefer made him crash and burn. This fight went everywhere as Reefer punished the cocky youngster and lit up for extra strength. The intensity rose throughout the match as tempers flared and both guys tried to push the risk/reward style of fighting. The old school met new school and, in the end, after a hard-fought battle new school won the day in an old school way. Whilst the decision remained contentious, Skye won by roll-up and the pair shook hands after a vicious opening battle. This felt like the perfect way to open the show as it was a hyper-athletic sprint that spread chaos around the venue. The best way to set a tone.

The kids weren’t alright tonight as they were about to battle. It would be the smash-mouth style of Marcus Mathers meeting the aerial madness of Dyln McKay. Both guys might normally be the best of friends but this wasn’t H2O and they were going to fight to see who was better. Since these guys know each other so well, it became an incredibly competitive fight. Both guys knew when and where to counter and weren’t afraid to maim each other using the ring-posts. It usually fell down to if a combo didn’t work, they’d try it again and it would. The back-and-forth continued until the very end with both guys winded and wrecked. Neither guy wanted to quit and kneed, kicked, flew, countered, and near enough murdered each other through the runtime of the match. The match was only eight minutes long but they packed so much into it with McKay taking the win with his incredible Shooting Star Press. These guys are still incredibly young into their careers and they’re already putting on matches like this, just imagine what they’ll be like in a couple of years’ time.
Jimmy Lloyd defeated Lee Moriarty via Tombstone Piledriver
Time for some pure rules. Jimmy Lloyd, ace of VxS, was getting taken out of his element as he was taking on a hybrid master in his element. Limited closed fists, mat-time, and rope breaks all came into play as Lee Moriarty was going to make Jimmy Lloyd play the TAIGA STYLE game. This was exceptionally entertaining to watch as Moriarty pulled out his usual tricks and cleverly made Lloyd waste his limited resources at bad times. Lloyd tried his best to keep up but a lot of the match was Moriarty running circles around Lloyd and trying to mangle up an arm. Things opened up and we got even more clever technicality meeting deadly Suplexes and powerful slams. Lloyd broke the rules at one point with a sneaky closed fist but that still couldn’t net him the win. However, minutes later, Lloyd had picked up the win with a Tombstone. As I said, this was really damn good. Moriarty forced Lloyd to use the wrestling skill he suppresses a lot of the time. Lloyd is still one of the aces of VxS and matches like this help keep that reputation alive. I hope we see Moriarty back in VxS, keeping that pure rules scene thriving as he feels like one of the best fits for it. He brought this out of Jimmy Lloyd imagine what he could bring out of others.

Who’s ready for another styles clash? The Aesthetic Crippler was about to face one of his toughest challenges yet as he’d have to deal with the hybrid Wildman from the woods, KTB. How can you tap out a strong man that can fly? Before this match could even begin, the fans were trolling the ref Nick Shin with streamers. Blackwood tried to play it smart and strike up KTB before he could react but as always, KTB was smart too and countered Blackwood into vicious punishment. KTB administered a beating from there and forced Blackwood to work from underneath or get crushed under the power. The striking and kicking got stiff and the landings just kept getting worse throughout the match. KTB wanted Blackwood to bring it but wouldn’t often punish him when he did. Eventually, Blackwood got to the point where he was systematically destroying KTB with speed, kicks, and head drops. Alas, it wasn’t enough as KTB came back strong and used his own smarts to dodge a double stomp into a Half Crab, tapping Blackwood out. This was awesome. You couldn’t ask for a better match between these two as both guys did what they do best and KTB just happened to have the edge. By the end of the fight, either man could have had their hand raised.
Three-way Dance: Nolan Edward (w/Riley Madison) defeated Dr. Cube & Cole Radrick via Curb Stomp on Radrick
In a card subject to change moment, Nolan Edward was now left without an opponent. He was still there to fight so he issued an open-ended open challenge. The first to respond was the Evil Dr. Cube and an army of his minions. Edward took out the minions and Cube begged for mercy but when the Cube came off, it was Jody Himself. The real Dr. Cube attacked from behind. Well, tried to, he ended up hitting Jody with mist. Cube killed them both and after a brawl outside Edward suplexed Cube on the floor. At that point, Cole Radrick picked his moment to attack and entered the match too. They beat the hell out of each other and teamed up to kill off more of Cube’s minions. Radrick murdered Cube and nearly got the win over Edward but there was no quit and no flinching. Edward knocked Radrick to the mat and snuffed him out with a Curb Stomp. This got out of hand really fast but chaos seems to follow Nolan Edward everywhere. Edward was out to prove a point and punctuated it at the end by repeatedly Curb Stomping a minion as Madison watched on. Looks like Nolan Edward is out to be a killer.

The chaos wasn’t stopping as it was time for another adrenaline-pumping three-way. Façade, Dante Leon, and Tye Hyll, three of the indie scene’s top flyers were about to collide and the action could spill anywhere and break physics to a dramatic degree. I was right as that’s exactly what happened. Bodies flew, foes collided and we saw all manner of creative flippy shit. Everyone was in top form even if the environment and weaponry wouldn’t play ball. Façade had the veteran role as Hyll and Leon continuously tried to dethrone him and beat each other as the match went on. We got some ridiculous counters, high-flying violence and Façade made Leon an accessory to his win by tagging in to hit a Destroyer off of his shoulders. That got the win and veteran savvy won the day. This was wild. The action was some of the fastest of the show and definitely had the fans losing their minds. It certainly provided a palette cleanser from what was to come.
Masha Slamovich defeated Daniel Garcia (w/Robert Martyr) via Roll-over Armbar
Time for one of the most-hyped matches on the card. Masha Slamovich, the Russian Dynamite was making her VxS debut and she was fighting one of their best, Red Death Daniel Garcia under pure rules. This was about proving people wrong and asserting dominance. She’d been studying, watching, and learning. Now was the time to make Garcia suffer. It appeared that Garcia was taking Slamovich lightly at first so she delighted in making him pay for that with a whole manner of traps and throws. This became a tit-for-tat battle of technicality and toughness. Stiff strikes, stiff kicks, and more were thrown at both fighters as the pair tried to prove a point and drain the other’s rope breaks. Garcia realised just what kind of a fight he was in and unleashed all of his wrath on Slamovich. She took it and administered the same back just as hard, if not worse. This was back-and-forth to the end as both refused to quit and no killing blow ever seemed to be enough. With their resources finally depleted, the exhausted pair grew desperate and Garcia used chokes and the ropes to try and win. Slamovich refused to quit and rolled Garcia into an armbar, wrenched back on his hand, and tapped him out. This was the best fight of the night. The intensity was through the roof, the action crisp and brutal and the reaction to Slamovich winning was unbeatable. This is a must-watch match from the weekend. Robert Martyr nearly got murdered again but Garcia’s arm gave out before he could do anything. Serves you right, don’t be a dick to your students.
Brian Cage defeated Shane Mercer via Drill Claw

So, this match made me fear for the structural integrity of the ring. It was time for a super athletic hoss fight as Shane Mercer, the Iron Demon was here and he was taking on the Machine, Brian Cage. These terminators could hit hard, throw hard and fly hard. Nowhere was safe if these two were brawling. This was made evident from the start as the pair started fast and technical, Cage preventing things from going to the air with a ring-post powerbomb. Things got stiff and both guys started showing off the scary levels of power they have. Mercer started lifting Cage like he was nothing and rubbing that in further by doing it with one arm. The power moves from both guys went off the charts and commentary was losing their minds at what they were seeing. Mercer nearly took the win with Moonsault and Battery but Cage kicked out at two. Nothing could keep either guy down as the murderous moves continued and the guys just kept getting up like they were nothing. It took the Drill Claw to keep Mercer down after 16-minutes of pure punishment. This was awesome. A big boy Kaiju fight between two hybrid hosses. We got a nice show of respect when the match is done as Cage proved his love for the indies was still alive. The crowd wanted Mercer back and I’m sure he’ll oblige. Hell, I’m hoping it means we’ll see IronBeast in the near future.
Jordan Oliver defeated Davey Richards via Roll-Up
Last but not least, the main event. Jordan Oliver, the new ace of the company and borderline undefeatable across 2021, was getting a dream match. Davey Richards was back on the wrestling scene and was making a stop at VxS to battle the Ace. Was Oliver going to play star killer once again or was Richards going to break that streak? They opened with a handshake and the pair went into some intensive chain wrestling. Once again, we broke into a very drawn-out, intense fight between a veteran looking to reclaim his place and the Ace looking to overthrow him. The fight broke out everywhere and incorporated the best of both guy’s styles. Oliver likes to show how much his submission game has improved so Richards tried to break his limbs and submit him. They told this story for 19-minutes as Oliver was forced to come back from a technical genius intent on killing him. They pushed each other to the limit and Oliver continued to try and push Richards’ buttons. He went from underdog to victor as he took all the abuse given to him by Richards and eventually pulled out a win with his wits, cunning, and a roll-up as Richards tried to break his ankle. Both guys were exhausted, broken, and hurting by the end of this but Oliver managed to bring the show full circle by beating a respected veteran with a roll-up. Real respected real and the new ace of VxS had another seal of approval from a respected vet. This was an excellent main event and a very intense hybrid fight between two top-tier wrestlers. That moment of zen was ruined though as Jimmy Lloyd broke up celebrations by attacking Oliver with a Tombstone. He wasn’t happy about how Oliver was getting his spotlight and was going to take whatever he wanted before putting out a cigarette on Oliver’s forehead.
