Right here, right now. Happy Day 189 of 2021. Episode 27 of the year 2021. Days before Slammiversary: 8. Ask yourself what you wouldn’t do for gold, glory, fame. Just a few seconds in the light… Right here, right now. “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” Andy Warhol has never been into wrestling…
On the menu this week, from Nashville, Tennessee, Rosemary and Havok will team up against Kimber Lee and Susan to determine the new #1 contenders for the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship. Brian Myers will face off Jake Something. And we’ll hear from Sami Callihan and Kenny Omega as they will sign the Slammiversary World Championship Match contract. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

D’Lo Brown and Josh Mathews (Matt Striker will be back soon) were on commentary. On ‘Before The Impact’, Steve Maclin defeated Suicide. Great match.

  • IMPACT World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis arrived in the building. Gia Miller wanted to get Omega’s thoughts before his big contract signing with Sami Callihan. Callis answered for Omega by saying they are prepared for what could happen tonight, but they weren’t sweating it.

  • Jake Something defeated Brian Myers w/Sam Beale. Myers now must acknowledge Jake Something as a “professional.” Sam Beale ran with a blind attack on Something just before Myers uttered the words. As Beale and Myers attacked Something, Matt Cardona rushed to the ring following his injury and made the save.
  • Backstage, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo told Gia Miller she is proud of herself for letting Kimber Lee and Susan go. Later tonight, Purrazzo was going to compete in an Open Challenge Match.

  • Backstage, Sami Callihan was sitting in the back. He reminded everyone, and Gia Miller, that in 9 days, Omega is going to step in the ring with “The Death Machine.” A Sheriff came over and informed Callihan he is being arrested for assaulting Don Callis. Callihan couldn’t believe it. A bunch of guys from security came out, put handcuffs on Callihan and escorted him away.

  • Deonna Purrazzo’s Open Challenge Match: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Lady Frost. After the match, Purrazzo thanked Lady Frost for coming. Moving on, she was feeling confident in whoever steps up to her for the title next. Gail Kim’s music hit. Purrazzo began by thanking Gail Kim for being such a pivotal icon in this sport. But she wanted Kim to show her the same respect as she’s giving to her. Kim guaranteed she’ll always respect Purrazzo. Deonna expected her to be her opponent. Gail rejected this, as she is retired, and said Deonna must be tested. Kim announced that at Slammiversary, The Virtuosa will find out her opponent that night. Kim warned Purrazzo that not only will Impact’s world change, so will Purrazzo’s.

  • At Swinger’s Palace, Alisha Edwards asked the rest of the Swingerellas how many hours a week they work for Johnny Swinger. One of them replied 180 hours a week. Chris Sabin walked in and got ready to play a hand when Moose, out of nowhere, ambushed him. The poker table flew away.

  • Backstage, Chris Bey explained to Gia Miller why he chose to align himself with the X-Division Champion Josh Alexander, Trey Miguel and Petey Williams. Bey said after Madman Fulton ruined his and everyone else’s shot at becoming the #1 contender for the X-Division title at Against All Odds, he realized he’d rather work with the good guys in the match. Bey confirmed that this is not friendship, he merely chose his side to give him an advantage.

  • W. Morrissey demolished Jason Page, Manny Smith, and Deonte Evans. He wanted Eddie Edwards to watch this match closely now that he accepted Edwards’ challenge to a match at Slammiversary.

  • Backstage, Gia Miller asked Don Callis about Sami Callihan’s arrest. Callis informed Miller that Callihan did some damage to him and believes “The Draw” is a hazard to the company and to himself. He asked the production crew in the back to show the footage. In the footage, Callis was trying to control Callihan. Whatever Callis said caused Callihan to lose his temper, causing him to take a swing on Callis. The Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore stepped in the frame and said tonight, there will be a contract signing, regardless if Callihan can be there or not.

  • Rosemary & Havok defeated Susan & Kimber Lee to become the new #1 contenders for the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship. They will face Fire ‘N Flava at Slammiversary.
  • In a new episode of “It’s All About Me,” Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K welcomed Jazz as their guest. Jazz questioned if this is Piper’s Pit, which Kaleb misunderstood as Peppa Pig. Dashwood laid it on thick to Jazz about how she ruined her chance of working with Rachael Ellering. Dashwood thought Ellering and Jordynne Grace resolving their differences is absurd. She blamed Jazz for all of it. Just as Jazz got up and tried to walk away, Dashwood attacked her, sending her into the camera.

  • During the break, Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace checked on and helped Jazz, who was just floored. They challenged Tenille and Kaleb with a K for next week.

  • Rich Swann and Willie Mack called Out Violent By Design. Fallah Bahh and TJP answered instead. Both teams have an interest in the tag title shot. Violent by Design hit the stage, followed by The Good Brothers music. Super Consultant Tommy Dreamer informed them of a four-way tag booked for Slammiversary. Swann, Deaner, Anderson and TJP will face in a four-way after the commercial break.
  • Karl Anderson defeated Rich Swann, TJP, and Deaner with a Gun Stun on Deaner.

  • Backstage, Kimber Lee and Susan were disappointed they lost their title shot opportunity. Lee said she has a backup plan on how they can get back on track. Here came Father James Mitchell who asked Susan to join him in his office. Mitchell informed Lee he’ll do the best he can to bring Su Yung back, but he made no promises.

  • EVP Scott D’Amore was in the ring for the contract signing. Callis and Omega came to the ring and analyzed the contract. Omega signed as the lights started flickering before going out. We got an outside view of the filming of the supposed attack on Callis, revealing John E. Bravo as the attacker and Johnny Swinger as the cameraman. Callis tried to explain before Callihan appeared, hitting Omega with the baseball bat. Omega gained the advantage but ate the Nygma speciality, a perfect NutCracker. Callihan delivered a package piledriver (the Number 23) and signed the contract. Callihan finished him off with a powerbomb through the table before raising the belt.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

– Brian Myers vs Jake Something

Jake Something got the ball rolling by throwing Brian Myers around the ring seconds after the bell rang. Myers got tossed to the outside. Something continued the onslaught by slamming Myers’ head onto the steel stairs. Myers spilled to the outside again after getting beaten up with a huge clothesline over the top rope. Myers planted a suplex on top of the ramp.

Back in the ring, Myers laid on some body shots. Something tried to catch some air on the ropes. Sam Beale laid a slap on Something while Myers distracted ref Brandon Tolle. Something caught himself and fought Myers off with hammer blows and a pop-up powerbomb. Myers tried to end the match with a spike DDT but Something was still in the fight. Something headed up top, where Myers was perched. Myers threw Something off and landed a pinpoint elbow drop. Something sent Myers out with his Black Hole Slam for the win.

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts/Awards of the Week

– Memories from The Undead Realm…

Decay, Rosemary, Havok, Su Yung, Father James Mitchell, in case you don’t know about, all come from a mysterious land filled with zombies and undead people. A Kingdom where magic, resurrection, devilish things happen… With time, The Undead Realm has become another important component of Impact Wrestling, able to create characters and storylines out of the norm, develop the cinematic orchestra style. Non-dead people are also Impact…

Slammiversary

The PPV is in 9 days, we are reaching 7 matches. Expect at least one more, maybe two. That card is so full of promises. Josh Mathews questioned the audience, “is Sami Callihan truly the hero Impact Wrestling needs?” I have an answer, a personal one. But ask yourself the question another way, do we really want a bunch of cheaters as our heroes? A supposed Invisible Hand who forgot what discretion is when it comes to manipulating the truth. A Gold wearer and supposedly Champion who is a puppet blinded by his gold more than anything else. So Josh, what do you want?

Slammiversary card (as of today):

  • IMPACT World Championship Match: Kenny Omega (c) vs Sami Callihan
  • Fatal Four-Way Match for the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship: Violent by Design (c) vs The Good Brothers vs Fallah Bahh & TJP vs Mack & Swann
  • IMPACT Knockouts Championship Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs a mystery opponent
  • Ultimate-X Match for the X-Division Championship: Josh Alexander (c) vs Ace Austin vs Chris Bey vs Petey Williams vs Rohit Raju vs Trey Miguel
  • IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship Match: Fire ‘N Flava (c) vs Rosemary & Havok
  • Moose vs Chris Sabin
  • W. Morrissey vs Eddie Edwards

To be eNYGMAtic…

Finally, the build-up was there. The action paid the price of it but not that much. Like I said, the card is already fantastic and extremely open. If you hear on TV like me talking about Delta COVID and new restrictions, I imagine Impact management has already prepared plans B, C, D and E in case of. We want to think things are getting better and reality is different.
Whatever, in 8 days, Slammiversary will take place and in front of an audience of fans. Nothing else matters. Next week is the classic stakes/predictions in the review special edition. It will also be my last weekly review until… I have no clue when I am back but I will be back. I will miss you but I will miss Impact Wrestling…
On this “Nygma Is Steph first” note, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, go get vaccinated, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
