This Thursday on IMPACT, Christian Cage said he was in a quest, winning all the belts Kenny Omega has collected. Also, he said he owes it to the fans to win the IMPACT belt because Impact Wrestling gave him the chances and opportunities he deserved and helped him become a better wrestler. Cage did what he said and won the Impact World Championship against Kenny Omega on tonight’s AEW Rampage.
In the opener of tonight’s debut episode, Christian picked up the pinfall victory on Omega. Near the end of the match, Don Callis attempted to distract the referee while The Young Bucks slid a chair into the ring. Omega attempted to hit one winged angel on the chair, Christian reversed into his finisher, kill shot, and got the win. After the match, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Impact Wrestling EVP Scott D’Amore celebrated with Christian. Omega and Cage will face off once again on September 5 at All Out PPV, this time for the AEW World Championship.
