Right here, right now. Happy Day 273 of 2021. Episode 39. Right here, right now. “Try to remember when life was so tender. That no one wept except the willow. Try to remember when life was so tender. That dreams were kept beside your pillow.” Right here, right now. Sweat dreams are made of wishes, real life is made of fighting. Past, present, future, the timeline means nothing. All you need is now.
On the menu, this week, from Las Vegas, Nevada, Christopher Daniels will come back to the Impact Zone for the first time in 7 years against Madman Fulton. Eddie Edwards and W. Morrissey will try to put an end to their feud in a Street Fight. The first X-Division Tournament Triple Threat Match will see Laredo Kid, Trey Miguel and Alex Zayne square off. The Influence will face off Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace to become the new #1 contenders for the Knockouts Tag Team titles. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

D’Lo Brown and Matt Striker were on commentary. On ‘Before The Impact’, Matt Cardona defeated Raj Singh while Chelsea Green was taking care of Rohit Raju at ringside.

  • We saw Christopher Daniels arrive earlier in the day.

  • Trey Miguel defeated Laredo Kid and Alex Zayne in the first X-Division Tournament Triple Threat Match.

  • Backstage, Drama King Matt Rewholdt cut a promo about watching Laredo Kid and how he creates art in the ring. He said he knows Laredo isn’t hiding behind the mask, it’s just the world doesn’t understand Lucha libre. Next week, he wants Laredo to comes to his canvas and show the world their art.

  • Earlier today, we saw medical staff checking on Sami Callihan after the backstage attack from W. Morrissey and Moose that has taken him out of action. Eddie Edwards vs. W. Morrissey is now a Street Fight and Moose is banned from ringside. Backstage, Eddie Edwards said tonight things will end once and for all between him and Morrissey. He’s then coming for Moose next.

  • Tenille Dashwood & Madison Rayne defeated Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering to become the new #1 contenders for the Knockouts Tag Team titles, with a little help from Kaleb with a K…

  • Backstage, Christopher Daniels told Gia Miller when he helped build the house, he doesn’t have to knock on a forbidden door to come back to Impact. He added he’ll show what he can do against Fulton later tonight. Josh Alexander came over and thanked Daniels for helping him last week. Christian Cage showed up and blamed Josh for needing help last week in the first place. Daniels told them to keep it civil, and ultimately he has his own agenda that he will tell them about one day. Cage then gave some advice to Alexander, if he wants to be the World Champion, he’s gotta keep those emotions in check.

  • Vignette from “The Most Professional Wrestler” about being in excellent physical condition. We saw a bunch of his trainees struggling with push-ups. VSK was just standing next to Myers and they asked why he didn’t have to do any. Myers said he finished ten minutes ago. Myers added they better step it up if they want to stay under his learning tree and left with VSK.

  • Backstage, Impact World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers talked about all the things they’ve been doing lately (drinking, selling merch, beating up Jon Moxley). They went over some of the other wrestlers, Bullet Club (“still living on our name”), and FinJuice. Gallows said they need opponents at the PPV. So how about FinJuice vs. Bullet Club and whoever wins, gets the champs at Bound for Glory.

  • Deonna Purazzo went to a farm to find Mickie James herself. She found Mickie working in the barn and we get some scary music before the two started brawling in the barn. Mickie took the upper hand tossing Deonna into a wall. Deonna grabbed a bucket and smashed it over Mickie’s head. She then dumped a wheelbarrow full of hay on Mickie. Deonna went to lock Mickie in the barn before Mickie hit her with a bucket of her own. Mickie screamed, “You wanna come to my house!” as she fought back. Deonna said she’ll “F’in kill Mickie” and tried to hit her with a pitchfork. Mickie dodged the pitchfork and dropped Deonna with a bucket. Mickie asked Deonna if she wants to see Hardcore country. She smashed her head off a larger bucket, then went to hit her with it again before getting kicked in the stomach. Deonna took the upper hand trying to choke Mickie out on the post for the horses. Mickie used a hose and sprayed water at Deonna to get her off. Deonna told Mickie she hates her before trying to drown her. Someone screamed and asks what’s going on over there so Deonna stopped trying to kill Mickie and just talked violently to her.

  • Backstage, FinJuice said they were outnumbered by Bullet Club yet again, three vs. two. Finlay said it’s the numbers game every single time. They found a plus one though, Chris Sabin walked in. He said it’s an honour to wrestle with them and he hates Bullet Club. He offered up a trios match next week.

  • Christopher Daniels defeated Madman Fulton w/ Ace Austin.

  • At Swinger’s Palace, Johnny Swinger sort of got dressed up at his casino. Scott D’Amore walked in and asked Swinger what the deal is. He asked D’Amore not to take Bound for Glory to Las Vegas and he got to keep his casino. D’Amore wondered what the deal is as it doesn’t benefit him at all. Swinger tried to sweet-talk him and ultimately said he’ll just bring the palace out there and put out the Casino there. D’Amore said it’s likely he doesn’t have a permit to operate in Las Vegas. Swinger laughed and said they don’t, and they don’t even have one in Tennessee. D’Amore thanked him for that info and said he’s shutting this down.

  • Backstage, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton found Scott D’Amore, Ace said the inmates are running the asylum around here. He said that Josh Alexander and Daniels keep getting involved in their business. D’Amore complimented Fulton for his work in the match with Daniels but said next week Josh will team with Christian to take on Ace and Fulton. He said they can handle their own problems and Ace seemed pleased with this match up.

  • The members of Violent By Design headed out to the ring. It’s time for Rhino to make his decision if he’s going to stay with the group or not. Young said this group had all the momentum and power, but someone made a mistake. Rhino let the sickness come in and control things. He said it’s time for him to decide to make the right choice, stay with the group or walk away.

  • Rhino made his way to the ring. Young asked him what’s he going to do? Rhino just stood there as Young tried to convince him to stay. The other two circled around Rhino. Heath’s music hit and he’s back. Heath walked out and started swinging away on Deaner and sent him out. He then tossed Doering out of the ring. Young bailed out of the ring. Rhino was standing in the corner of the ring still. Heath looked over at Rhino and offered up a hug. Rhino thought it over and stepped out of the ring. Rhino ended up just walking out through the crowd.

  • The Impact Digital Media Championship was announced as the company’s newest title (read more about it below).

  • Eddie Edwards w/ Alisha defeated W. Morrissey (Street Fight). After the match, Moose attacked Edwards. Alisha tried to help, but she shrugged off. Moose then hit a Spear on Edwards through a table that was set up in the corner. Moose looked over a fallen Edwards. Alisha walked over to her husband to check on him. Morrissey was up now and walked over with Moose to where Alisha was. Morrissey gave her a weird smile and forced her to watch. Moose put a chair around Edwards’ neck and threw him right into the ring post out on the floor. He then cracked him with another chair with the first chair still around his neck. He did it yet again. Alisha finally got back to her husband while Moose and Morrissey slowly made their way to the back.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

It could have been the Street Fight or Daniels vs Fulton. I had to choose one…

– Trey Miguel vs Laredo Kid vs Alex Zayne

Trey and Laredo started the match teaming up against Zayne but he quickly reversed out of the action. Zayne launched Laredo Kid into a powerbomb from Trey. Miguel and Zayne exchanged some words. Laredo Kid popped up and hit a double hurricanrana on Zayne and Miguel. Zayne hit a shooting star senton. Trey hit a step-up hurricanrana on Laredo Kid and sent him to the outside. He hit another on the apron sending both to the outside. Trey was caught off guard with a moonsault from Zayne out of nowhere. Zayne tossed both men back into the ring. He leapt over the back of Trey Miguel to hit Laredo Kid with a dropkick.

Trey caught Zayne in the corner and hit him with the Cheeky Nandos kick. Trey climbed to the top but got caught by Laredo Kid who went for a superplex. Trey blocked it and dropped Laredo Kid on his face. Laredo Kid got to his feet and Zayne launched himself off the back of Laredo into Miguel in the corner. Miguel caught Zayne in an inverted STF. Laredo Kid hit a 450 onto Miguel and Zayne. Zayne, back on the offensive, locked hands with Miguel and went for a springboard but was caught by Laredo Kid who hit a springboard moonsault on Trey instead. Laredo followed this up by trying to hit Zayne with a hurricanrana but he reversed it into a powerbomb on Laredo. Trey Miguel climbed to the top and hit the Meteora on Laredo Kid for the win.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

Closing Swinger’s Palace? Scott D’Amore, what have you done? We know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but what happens on IMPACT will always stay on IMPACT. #SaveSwingerPalace

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts/Awards of the Week

– IMPACT Digital Media Championship

IMPACT Wrestling will inaugurate a brand-new championship — the Digital Media Championship — at COUNTDOWN TO GLORY, starting at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on Saturday, October 23, originating from Sam’s Town Live! in Las Vegas. The first-ever champion will be crowned in a six-way match during COUNTDOWN TO GLORY, the live pre-game show that will stream across all digital platforms immediately before the biggest IMPACT event of the year – BOUND FOR GLORY 2021.

IMPACT Wrestling Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore said: “In the fine tradition of the iconic television titles from pro wrestling history, IMPACT Wrestling will add a fourth singles championship on October 23rd. The inaugural Digital Media Champion will be crowned in a six-way match, with the winner making history.” Those six competitors, however, will have to fight for the opportunity to become the first Digital Media Champion.

D’Amore added: “Twelve contenders, drawn from both the Knockouts and male rosters, will compete in six single-elimination matches over the next three weeks. The winners of those matches will be the final six who go on to BEFORE THE GLORY and the Digital Media Championship six-way.”

The elimination match-ups will stream Tuesdays and Wednesdays on IMPACT’s own digital subscription network IMPACT Plus and for IMPACT Ultimate Insiders on the promotion’s popular YouTube Page. After 24 hours, the matches will be made available for everyone across IMPACT’s digital universe, including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

“IMPACT Wrestling is an innovator in the digital space,” D’Amore added, pointing out that IMPACT’s wildly successful Facebook strategy is the subject of an upcoming best practices report to be published by the social media giant.

“It is fitting to recognize the huge audience IMPACT has online. After the first champion is crowned, the Digital Media Championship will be defended on IMPACT’s digital platforms in exclusive matches as well as on television, monthly IMPACT Plus specials and pay-per-views as it takes its place as one of the most coveted titles in our sport.”

The following announced matches for next week are John Skyler vs. Zicky Dice, Hernandez vs. Crazzy Steve.

– Christopher Daniels

The fans who were there during TNA times probably had the same feeling I had. Yesterday, it looked like time stopped and we were back in the Golden Age of TNA. How can Daniels still be that damn good at 51? We may not be as good as we were around 2005 or so, but I realized that being a fan is something ageless. We were TNA, we are Impact Wrestling. So be it.

Knockouts Knockdown

We barely know about the card of this iPPV. There will be a tournament, as Gail Kim announced, with Lady Frost, Mercedes Martinez, Renee Michelle and Chelsea Green competing in, the Knockouts Tag Team Titles will be defended, a tribute to Daffney will take place through a Monster’s Ball match. There will be a lot of surprises and that’s nice.

Bound For Glory

Three weeks before the PPV and that will be huge…

To be eNYGMAtic…

I think you now know the recipe by heart, action + cinematic orchestra + good promos = great episode (perfection doesn’t exist). The action was excellent, with some high-flying Lucha Libre, classic Chris Daniels, and hardcore. Deonna and Mickie’s fight in the barn was brilliant. And we had good promos to build up some storylines on The Road To Bound for Glory. That was great and so, you have nothing else to add…
On this “Nygma Had Carte Noire Memories” note, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, go get vaccinated, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
