WARNING: STRONG VIOLENCE AHEAD
It’s spooky season once again. You know what that means. It’s time to dive into another 31 deadly, bloody, horrifying deathmatches as we go into the 3rd annual deathmatch calendar. As always, this will be a day-by-day calendar of gore as we break into some of the greatest, nastiest, and most infamous of deathmatches across the years culminating with my pick of the year so far at the number 31 spot. With the preamble out of the way, let’s see what is awaiting us in this year’s tour of wrestling terror.
Wrestling has its power-couples and its families. This has been the case for a long time and will probably be the case for a long time to come. Deathmatch wrestling is no exception and when people think of power couples one of the names that will quickly come up is the Kirks. Brandon and Kasey are two of the deadliest fighters in the deathmatch game and are certainly devious in their tactics. Be it solo or as a unit, they’ve racked up notoriety in countless companies across the US. These range from CZW, ICW NHB, GCW, No Peace Underground, H2O, and more. No matter where they turn up, they always cause trouble. Today, I figured why not celebrate that. When you’ve been in the game as long as they have, and done as much as they have, they deserve some recognition. The chant may be “Fuck the Kirks” but let’s face it, we all enjoy their work deep down or we’d just give them the Tessa Blanchard level nuclear send-off. Here are two matches from their never-ending war with Danny Demanto and the forces of ICW NHB.

Up first we go for the match that really set Brandon Kirk alight, quite literally in ICW as it was the first time he crossed the boss of No Holds Barred, Danny Demanto. This was at the Blood Shed in New Jersey for Pitfighter X5. Kirk had been spending most of his time getting beaten down in ICW so after picking up a win at the previous event, he looked to keep that going here. It started out like an actual pit fight and quickly escalated to Demanto cutting Kirk apart with Gussets. Demanto took the fight outside of the cage and buried Kirk under a barbed wire board, slamming Mittens onto that. Back in the cage, Demanto seasoned Kirk’s cuts with salt and lemon just to really make them hurt. Kasey came to the rescue with a dick kick and Brandon got revenge with a tack bat. From there, Kirk got all the vengeance he could with gussets and chairs until Demanto dumped him through another barbed-wire door. Kasey and Mittens got involved in the fight further and Demanto took Kirk to the top to throw him through a flaming door. Kirk staggered about ablaze but didn’t quit. There was still some fight in him. Demanto set up a chair platform to kill Kirk off but Kirk hit low again, dropped Demanto through the chairs with a piledriver, and tapped him out with an armbar. It was a horrifying match for Kirk but he’d come out on top, survived a blaze, and managed to take the win from the boss. It also lit the fuse on the second-longest feud in ICW NHB.
Our other match is much later down the line at Unlucky 13. The blood feud was still ongoing and now Danny Demanto had enlisted Alex Xcean’s help to best the dastardly duo. These two teams were going to wreak havoc on the Carousel Room as Demanto was determined to finally put the Kirks in their place. I only covered this match recently so I won’t go full play-by-play but this match went everywhere. Both teams took an absolute beating with Demanto and Xcean refusing to hold back on ICW’s most-hated couple. Kasey got to prove she was one of the toughest in the business as she took the brunt of the abuse and gave most of it back. All of this went everywhere and broke excessive amounts of fuckery. It was a wild ride with the Kirks in the driving seat for a lot of it. This grudge just kept building and Xcean found himself caught in the crossfire. He took a death tumble and the Kirks ended Demanto once again. This was one hell of a brutal fight with both Kirks looking like absolute badasses throughout. Kasey can more than hold her own against anyone and this match just further proved it. For better or worse, the Kirks are one of the top duos in deathmatch, hell in indie wrestling and that will not change any time soon. Come back tomorrow for the next deathmatch delight.
