It was a packed show this week with some big matches filling the card. The main event saw an eight-man tag match take place as The Dark Order faced The Elite. Jon Moxley took on The Dark Order’s 10, and Hikaru Shida looked for payback against Serena Deeb. Cody addressed the fans, MJF got a nasty surprise, and Sammy Guevara defended his TNT Championship against Ethan Page. First up, CM Punk made his Dynamite debut against Bobby Fish.
CM Punk vs Bobby Fish
Punk took Fish to the mat with a headlock. In the corner, Fish used his vicious kicks to hurt Punk’s legs, then locked in a headlock of his own. They traded knees in the corner until Punk dropped an elbow into Fish’s chest. Punk powerslammed Fish three times in a row, then connected with a running knee in the corner. Off the apron, Fish hit a senton into the ring on Punk and hit a suplex followed by a two-count. Punk broke out of a chin lock to clothesline Fish outside, then hit a Tope Suicida.
Fish whipped Punk’s knees from underneath him as he stood on the apron. He got back in the ring and knocked Punk down with a running elbow. Fish hit a back suplex and an inverted dragon screw and continued to work on Punk’s injured leg. The action spilled outside where Fish threw Punk into the barrier, then hit some strikes to the stomach. They traded blows until Fish dropped Punk with a knee. Back in the ring, Fish charged at Punk in the corner.

Punk was struggling to regain his breath as Fish delivered some strikes on the top turnbuckle. Punk fought back and knocked Fish to the mat, then hit an elbow drop. Punk was able to get to his feet and punch Fish, but Fish knocked him down. Punk landed a neckbreaker and signalled GTS. He attempted it, but Fish got out of it. Punk was able to hit another GTS and only just got the pin.
Thoughts: A great start to the night. Bobby Fish is being given some great exposure and he’s constantly impressing. CM Punk was able to pull off the win, still looking good for his age. ***½
MJF W/ Shawn Spears & Wardlow vs Bryce Donovan
MJF offered to shake Donovan’s hand, then kicked him in his stomach. He hit the Heatseeker and picked up the win. Afterwards, he grabbed a mic and called Boston an “absolute s***hole.” MJF said he’d rather stick his junk in a blender than go anywhere near “your fat women.” He continued to trash Boston, then turned his attention to Darby Allin. He talked trash about him, saying he broke him mentally. The fans started to chant, “asshole,” but MJF quickly responded by saying he couldn’t hear them “over all the money I make.”
He said he knocked out Sting with his ring, and there was nothing stopping him from his destiny now Allin wasn’t in his way. He called himself the past, the present, and the future. Suddenly, Sting’s music hit. MJF started to laugh as it stopped, thanking Spears for fooling everyone. The lights went out and a video aired where Allin put a random guy through a table who was dressed as MJF, with a graphic that read, “Now it’s time to break you physically.”

The lights came back on as Sting stood behind them. He struck Spears and Wardlow with the bat as MJF ran outside the ring. Allin then stood behind him in the crowd and ran after him. MJF got to the top of the ramp as Allin beat up Spears and Wardlow with a skateboard covered in thumbtacks. Allin’s music hit and he asked for it to be cut. He said he wanted MJF at Full Gear.
Thoughts: A pointless match, but an awesome segment from both MJF and Darby Allin. The match is set and I cannot wait to see these two go at it. *
TNT Championship Match: Ethan Page vs Sammy Guevara (c)
Guevara ran to the ring and took Page out with a kick to the outside. He flipped over the top rope and knocked Page to the ground. Guevara threw Page into a table then attacked him, followed by a couple of whips into the barriers. The bell finally rang, with both guys trading blows. Guevara hit a dropkick and a snap suplex. He booted him in the back, then the two traded chops. Guevara threw Page in the air and kicked his back and booted him in the jaw. Page hit the rope and knocked Guevara off the turnbuckle.
Page knocked Guevara to the outside of the ring. He threw Guevara into the barrier, then dropped his neck onto the apron. Back in the ring, Page hit a back body drop. Page choked Guevara with his boot and hit a backbreaker. He taunted Guevara and hit him with some forearms. Guevara fought back and went for Ego’s Edge, but Guevara got out. He hit an Enzuigiri to Page’s back and nailed a springboard cutter. Guevara hit a Spanish Fly and almost got the three-count.

Guevara hit a shooting star press off the top turnbuckle to Page who was outside the ring. Page was able to whip Guevara off the turnbuckle in the ring and connect with a falling slam. Page powerslammed Guevara off the top turnbuckle, then charged right into him as Guevara got back to his feet. Page went for an avalanche Ego’s Edge, but Guevara countered with a head-scissors. The match ended with a bridged pinfall as Guevara retained. After the bell, Page attacked him from behind and Scorpio Sky ran down. The Inner Circle headed out to even the odds.
Jericho grabbed a mic and said he expected them to ambush Guevara after the match. He said he respected Scorpio Sky for beating Le Champion twice, but the only thing of prominence Page had beaten was himself in his hotel room last night. Jericho then said there would be a 5-on-5 match at Full Gear thanks to Guevara’s win. He said by virtue of Tony Kahn, it would be a Minneapolis Street Fight and told them to bring Lambert next week so they could tell the “pumpkin-headed dips***” who were going to be in the match. He quoted Boston’s own Aerosmith, ending by saying they were going to kick their “f**ing ass.”
.@sammyguevara's win seals it, the #InnerCircle will face @ScorpioSky, @OfficialEGO & 3 members of @AmericanTopTeam of the Inner Circle's choosing at #AEWFullGear & #AEW GM @TonyKhan has made it a Minneapolis Street Fight! Thoughts: An excellent match and a great performance by both guys. Guevara looks good with gold around his waist, and I hope he has it for some time. As for Jericho’s promo, it was gold once again. Roll on Full Gear. ****
TBS Championship Tournament First Round Match: Serena Deeb vs Hikaru Shida
Shida started aggressively, sweeping Deeb to the mat and delivering strikes. She stomped her down in the corner, as Deeb managed to escape, hitting her head on the ring post in the process. Shida went to grab her and delivered a superplex. She went for a running knee, but Deeb escaped and chopped her knee from behind. Deeb continued to work on the injured knee by wrenching it into her own knee. In the corner, Deeb continued to wrench the injured knee.
The woman of a thousand holds twisted Shida’s knee. Shida got out and landed a step-up Enzuigiri and landed a succession of shots to the chest. She hit a running knee and a spinning elbow to a fallen Deeb. From the top rope, Shida hit a missile dropkick followed by a delayed vertical suplex, only getting a two-count. After some back and forth, Shida hit an axe kick and a release German suplex, followed by an axe kick to the back of the head.

After a failed pin attempt, Deeb twisted Shida’s knee but got sent to the outside of the ring. Shida jumped off the steel steps and hit another missile dropkick. Deeb grabbed Shida’s leg and drove it into the apron, then connected with a figure four with Shida’s legs wrapped around the ring post. Back in the ring, Shida reversed a figure four with an inside cradle. She hit a question mark kick, but Deeb managed to lock in a half crab, reversing into a modified figure four, but Shida grabbed the rope.
Deeb grabbed the plaque that Shida brought to the ring, but Shida took it off her and almost hit her with it. Deeb poked her in the eye and went for the pin, but Shida got out. Shida reversed a pin attempt and got the win. After the match, Deeb chopped Shida’s knee, then smashed her injured knee with a steel chair multiple times. Deeb then locked in the Serenity Lock as multiple officials ran out to break it up.
Thoughts: A superb match and a wonderful performance by both women. Deeb is becoming a top talent in AEW, and that attack at the end only heightened her heel status in the company. ****
AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament First Round Match: Dark Order’s 10 vs Jon Moxley
Moxley hit a release German suplex off the bat, then stomped 10 down in the corner. Moxley launched 10 into the ring steps, ripped his mask, then bit his face. He threw 10 into the other steel steps and got back in the ring. 10’s face was dripping with blood as he got back in the ring. He hit a pump kick, but Moxley clotheslined him to the mat and ended it with a Paradigm Shift for the win.
Thoughts: A quick match that should have gone on longer. Still, Moxley goes through so it’s all good. **½
Cody Speaks To The Fans
Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring with Arn Anderson. He said he hears the fans whether they believe it or not. He talked about hitting the Tiger Driver ’98 but almost hit another move. A move that could see him abuse his executive position and challenge for the AEW World Championship. He mentioned how the fans can cheer or boo, but don’t forget the man who built this bank. He told them to put themselves in his shoes. He said he has a wife hotter than him, a brother better than him, a daughter he doesn’t deserve, and a father he could never be better than.
Cody said he would never turn because he loves the fans and has done his entire life. He apologised for becoming a “little Hollywood,” and did so to the Nightmare Family as well. He turned to Arn and said it was an honour to stand in the ring with him, and apologised to him. Andrade El Idolo came out and said these people didn’t like him. He said the people don’t like him at all, but he doesn’t like them either.

Andrade said Cody had a stupid tattoo, and he could make him his little bitch. The lights went out and Malakai Black appeared next to Andrade. They beat down Cody and Anderson until PAC ran out to even the odds. PAC sat cross-legged to mock Black, then stuck both his middle fingers up at them as they walked off.
Thoughts: A top promo by Cody. This alliance between Black and El Idolo is weird, but Cody and PAC are possibly more crazy. Regardless, I am 100% excited for it. Hopefully, we’re heading to a tag match at Full Gear.
The Dark Order (Stu Grayson, Evil Uno, Jon Silver, & Colt Cabana) vs The Elite (The Young Bucks, Adam Cole, & Kenny Omega)
The Dark Order came out dressed in fancy dress. Grayson was dressed as Kratos from God of War, Evil Uno was a cowboy, Cabana was Brandon Cutler, and Silver was a reindeer. The Elite were dressed like the Ghostbusters, accompanied by the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and Michael Nakazawa as a big baby. Silver headbutted Cole and landed a back body drop. Uno tagged in and got his eyes scratched.
Omega entered the match and moved out the way of a splash from Uno. Omega threw Uno outside as Nakazawa hit a splash with the referee distracted. Back in the ring, Matt Jackson got tripped up by Uno, then ridden like a horse. He tagged Grayson in as The Dark Order took it in turns to hit splashes on Matt in the corner. The did The Dark Order pose on top of The Elite after body-slamming each member to the mat.

Grayson hit a swinging DDT on Matt Jackson. Nick booted Grayson off the apron to the outside. Back in the ring, Omega choked Grayson with his boot. The Elite hit double Enzuigiris and a back elbow on Grayson in the corner. Cole locked in a camel clutch as the Bucks kissed his cheek. Grayson stood on the top turnbuckle and stepped on Matt and Nick’s shoulders to connect a hurricanrana on Omega, then dodged two superkicks to deliver a double flipping knee strike on them.
Cabana landed a moonsault on the Bucks off the top rope and delivered some stunning offence on The Elite. Silver took out The Elite outside the ring, then hit a pump kick and release German on Nick in the ring. He got caught in the face with a couple of superkicks. Omega hit a snap dragon suplex. He held Silver in the air as the rest of The Elite delivered superkicks. Chaos erupted in the ring which culminated with Matt Jackson laying out the referee.

Matt hit a low blow on Grayson. Uno, Silver, and Cabana all got low-blowed by the rest of The Elite. The Elite put their backpacks on and charged at The Dark Order. They then piled them up in the ring and delivered a powerbomb on Cabana right into them. Someone dressed as a horse got booted in the crotch, then ate a four-way BTE Trigger. It was revealed to be Cutler with tape across his mouth. Grayson, Uno, and Silver pulled Omega, Nick Jackson, and Adam Cole outside the ring.
Matt Jackson was on his own in the ring and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man appeared behind him. He took off his mask to reveal “Hangman” Adam Page. He hit a lariat on Matt as Grayson landed a moonsault off the top turnbuckle to The Elite outside the ring. Omega got back in the ring and Page delivered a Deadeye to him. Silver hit a Spin Doctor to Matt Jackson and picked up the victory.
Thoughts: That was the weirdest match I’ve ever reviewed. It was also one of the most fun. What a great end to Dynamite. It’s about time The Dark Order won. Stu Grayson was excellent as well. ****½
What Else Went Down
Malakai Black cut a promo and said he made his family lose faith in Cody, and divided the Nightmare Family. He said he made an entire crowd hate him and said “the house always wins.”
