Welcome back to ChocoPro and to the aftermath of the 200 double-bill. We saw hopes and dreams both gained and crushed as ChocoPro reached its 200th episode and now, the winners and losers would have to continue on. The train never stops and we had another two shows to dive into. Firstly, in #201, we’d see Best Bros back in action as they took on Sayaka and Masahiro Takanashi and a manic triple-threat between Yuna Mizumori, Shin Suzuki, and the hyperactive chopping machine, Chie Koishikawa. Then, in #202, Best Bros would be stepping up again to battle Yuna Mizumori and the Gatoh Move Superhero Sawasdee Kamen and we’d see the Drunken Dragons try to coexist again against Chie Koishikawa and Sayaka Obihiro. There was a whole host to enjoy here so let’s get into the action.
ChocoPro #201
Shin Suzuki defeated Yuna Mizumori & Chie Koishikawa via Spinning Headstand Backslide on Koishikawa
First up, we had triple-threat action as Chie Koishikawa, Shin Suzuki and the Tropical Fairy Yuna Mizumori looked to open the weekend with a furious little scramble. We’d have powerhouse strength vs hyperactive striking vs creative technicality so this was all to play for. This ended up being a lot of fun as Suzuki and Mizumori tried to have a traditional match whilst Koishikawa kept screaming and running into the match whenever she felt ignored. Suzuki found himself in control of the match and continued to try and have that showdown with Mizumori whilst Koishikawa was out of the picture. Mizumori never missed a chance to overpower everyone and ended up using her opponents as weapons on multiple occasions. If she wasn’t locking someone up, she was throwing them around. It all became a bit of a cluster as everyone was doing everything in their power to score a quick win whilst the numbers allowed it, even if that meant temporarily working together. Suzuki found himself being bossed around by Koishikawa and helped her give Mizumori mat burn before regrettably betraying her and paying the price. There was so much improvised fun and frantic desperation throughout that it kept you guessing when someone was going to snap and try to take the win again. In the end, Suzuki was the lucky one and took the win with a spinning headstand backslide as Mizumori looked on in horror. It had been one hell of a fun if manic fight with all three fighters showing out to open the show. I hate seeing Koishikawa lose now but she went out strong and gave everyone hell.
Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) defeated Sayaka & Masahiro Takanashi via Gateau Invisible on Sayaka

This was our first time seeing Akki in action as a double champ. He was now an Asia Dream tag champion and the Super Asia champion so there was a lot of pressure to live up to. You have two targets on your back and now, every match could lead to any type of challenge. Firstly, it would be tag action as Best Bros went up against the deviously strong team of Sayaka and Masahiro Takanashi. We all know how much Takanashi wants that title so he was going to be gunning for Akki. Intensity was the name of the game as Takanashi started the match off trying to make an example of Suruga. She was willing to play the game and the pair put on a bit of a showcase. They tagged and Sayaka locked horns with Akki, keeping the technicality going. Sayaka scored big with a dropkick and her team started tearing Akki apart, Takanashi trying to rip his knee up. It didn’t last and Sayaka found herself the victim of a Best Bros beatdown, almost losing to Cute on Purpose and prompting Takanashi to interject. The champions kept getting cocky as they bullied Sayaka right in front of Takanashi as he could do nothing, Akki repeatedly mangling her arm with the Namaste Stretch. Sayaka forearmed and slammed her way to freedom, turning the page on the match and unleashing the rage-filled Takanashi. He held nothing back and punched up Akki whilst remembering to keep the leg destroyed.

He escaped to Suruga and we got more of the intense action we had opening the match as Suruga tried to toy with Takanashi. He wasn’t playing and kept striking out, even tanking the Best Bros double team. Sayaka took over and tried to tap Suruga out with the Crab. Things broke down as the pair struck it out whilst their partners interjected. No matter what Sayaka and Takanashi threw at Best Bros, they wouldn’t stay down. With all their resources spent, Sayaka was trapped in the Gateau Invisible and had to give up. It had been a nasty scrap of a match with Sayaka and Takanashi proving worthy foes but the result remained the same, Best Bros remain unbeatable. It had been very close and very tough but they’d persevered through again. Suruga wants CDK next and to ram the point home, she attacked Takanashi after calling him out. I think she’s going to get his wish somehow.
ChocoPro #202
Choun Shiryu & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Chie Koishikawa & Sayaka Obihiro via Hammerlock Armbreaker on Obihiro
The second show opened with more tag team fury as the Drunken Dragons reunited to lay another drunken master smackdown on whoever got in their way. This time Shiryu and Takanashi were doing battle with the heavy-handed team of Chie Koishikawa and Sayaka Obihiro, the popcorn team. Shiryu and Takanashi always bring the fire when their teaming so Obihiro and Koishikawa needed to be careful. It opened with multiple back-and-forth fights between the competitors with Koishikawa trying to get her runs in against Shiryu. Koishikawa thought she had Shiryu trapped but Takanashi made the save and we ended up seeing everyone run as Obihiro and Koishikawa found even more energy for their double team. That was snuffed out and the Drunken Dragons put the hurt on Koishikawa, trying to break her face and neck. It was merciless. Obihiro got a measure of revenge for her with some heavy chops and kept the Dragon in her grasp. Koishikawa and Takanashi were back in again to keep the frantic technicality flowing and Koishikawa got bullied by the Dragons until Obihiro could make the save. Koishikawa was hurting now (we’d later learn she’d dislocated her finger) and tried to fight on for a bit before letting Obihiro end things. Obihiro tried to fight them both off with a broken arm but just couldn’t stop the onslaught as Takanashi countered Obihiro Magic and tapped her out with a Hammerlock Armbreaker. It had been a valiant fight but nothing was going to stop the warpath of Shiryu and Takanashi. They make a deadly duo and had managed to squash the energy of the Popcorn Carnival. Mend up well Koishikawa, we’ll see you soon enough.
Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) defeated Yuna Mizumori & Sawasdee Kamen via Royal Dolphin Press on Kamen
The second main event left us with an interesting question. Best Bros had been getting cocky and potentially a bit evil that had left Akki questioning if they were the bad guys. What better way to fight bad guys than with a superhero? This was going to be another tag team main event for Best Bros and this time, they’d have to contend with Sawasdee Kamen and Yuna Mizumori. Could the hero and the tropical fairy disrupt this reign of terror? It wasn’t a good sign that Kamen wanted to kill Suruga before the match had even begun. He wasn’t allowed to though as Suruga and Mizumori opened the match, mixing chain wrestling with power games and hair-pulling. Suruga tried to unleash the goblin early but Mizumori cut that off quick. Best Bros caught her off-guard with double-teaming and Mei went full goblin mode, ripping up a choco bouquet and attacking cameraman Takanashi. Kamen dragged her away and Akki tried to control his evil partner. Suruga was thrown into Akki and the super duo began to work over the apple girl, administering some rough justice and showing a wealth of excellent teamwork. As expected, Suruga took another chomp out of a competitor to feed her tasting people goals and watched on as Akki became Kamen’s Kryptonite. Kamen escaped with a thrust kick and Mizumori gave Akki another round of Tropical pain. The pair went hard on each other with more nasty strikes before Best Bros tried to lock down the match again, Suruga taking over from Akki to keep the pressure on.

It didn’t quite work though and Mizumori squished her into the wall. Kamen got another chance to break down Mei and crashed down on her knees attempting a super splash. Suruga tried to bludgeon him into Apple Mutilation but it was no good as Mizumori made the save and kicked off another madcap closing sequence that featured one of the coolest lariats double-team moves I’ve ever seen from the super duo. They were determined to end the Best Bros but just couldn’t find the killing blow. Akki played saviour and threw Suruga into a huge Tornado DDT and the Royal Dolphin Press to take the win over Kamen. It had been a wild, creative match full of double team innovation and goblin tactics but the result remains the same, Best Bros win. Once again, great work from one of the best tag divisions around and another fun main event. Suruga still wants to battle CDK and with no other challengers coming forth, it looks like that fight will be happening sooner rather than later.
