Welcome back to ChocoPro and a rare Monday show. It was going to be another two-match affair as we dove into another double-bill of tag action. We had new pairings and a whole lot of potential fun on the way as Ichigaya’s favourite company did what it does best. On the cards today, Masahiro Takanashi and Hoshitango were regrouping to maul Shin Suzuki and Choun Shiryu and in the main event, Best Bros were in action again taking on the heavy-hitting combo of Tokiko Kirihara and Sayaka Obihiro. Plus, we are on the road to the two-year anniversary and Akki’s next big challenge. The Queen, Emi Sakura was coming home and objects on the phone may be closer than they appear. Let’s get into the action.

Masahiro Takanashi & Hoshitango defeated Shin Suzuki & Choun Shiryu via Hoshitango Splash on Suzuki

Up first today, we had another outing for the Headstand King, Shin Suzuki. This time he was teaming with the Dragon Choun Shiryu against the evil forces of Masahiro Takanashi and the giant Hoshitango. There were a lot of different styles at play here and Takanashi was going to be slightly after a weekend of winning more tag gold. Suzuki got the roughest of starts as Hoshitango just outpowered and bullied him. He quickly retreated and we got more of the technical warfare we’ve come to expect from Shiryu and Takanashi. The double champ became a double target as Shiryu was able to isolate him and Suzuki was happy to pile on the beating. Shiryu and Takanashi had another competitive go-around but Takanashi was able to lariat free and unleash the wrath of Hoshitango. As expected, the giant bulldozed his way through the competition and used his size and the wall to inflict punishment. Takanashi came to pick the bones and used both foes as weapons, trapping both in a double submission. Shiryu was able to throw off Takanashi and got the tag, bringing in Suzuki and watching him explode into action.

Suzuki got the ball rolling and Shiryu helped snowball it as the pair found their rhythm and brought out the double-team on Takanashi. This didn’t last as Hoshitango made the save and continued to assault the competition. They tried to destroy the giant but he just took the blows and Suzuki couldn’t quite get the Backslide. Hoshitango ended him with a Splash and took the win for his team. This had been a tough one for Suzuki but he’d kept trying despite the odds. It had been a fun fight because it had been something different with Hoshitango continuing to be an almost dominant force within the company. Takanashi got to coast to an easy win whilst Suzuki had to put his ribs back together.

Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) defeated Tokiko Kirihara & Sayaka Obihiro via Momonga Press on Kirihara

Last but not least, the main event. Best Bros were taking the top spot once again as they tried to continue their hot streak. The next team to be run through by the former champs was the unit of Comaneci Queen Tokiko Kirihara and the Iron Chef, Sayaka Obihiro. Could this makeshift unit unsettle the dominance Best Bros had found within the tag division? The match opened with more from Kirihara and Akki as the pair scrambled into some mat grappling. After a session of counter-wrestling, they both tagged and Obihiro kept the chain wrestling going with Suruga. The goblin tactics came out but quickly backfired as Kirihara and Obihiro used them to mock Suruga. The Apple Girl kicked back and Best Bros began to break down Kirihara. The Goblin Queen brought out the goblin tactics and Akki didn’t have the heart to stop her today. The match got a bit manic as partners interfered and Akki created a tower of Namaste Stretches. Obihiro and Suruga got even more competitive and continuously tried to one-up each other. Akki ramped up the physicality with some very stiff strikes and showed neither foe any mercy. Obihiro got the better of him with dropkicks and he became a punching bag for team Obihiro.

They did their best to isolate him and hit a lot of their best shots but he was too durable and Suruga kept picking the right time to make a save. Despite this, Obihiro and Kirihara held on, taking the best Suruga could throw and trapping the pair in more double-team, almost taking the win on multiple occasions. With such a fierce team, the Best Bros needed to unleash a new finisher and hit the Momonga Press on Kirihara to take the win. This had been an absolute blast. The frenetic pace of the action made it way more heated and compelling than one would first expect with both teams feeling it when this one was over. This could easily have been another write-off match but Kirihara and Obihiro brought a new fire and fury with them here.

It didn’t end there either, after Janken and the closing ceremonies, Emi Sakura made her grand return to Ichigaya. The voice on the phone had become the voice in person and she had brought gifts with her. Everyone got snacks and treats, except Akki, whom she mercilessly beat with her luggage. She was back in Japan and was reminding her champion just how vicious she could be ahead of their title match. That goes down at next week’s anniversary show but that’s not all. Sakura will be around for all the shows going on during her visit. The Queen had returned to her castle and everyone better be ready for the anarchy she is ready to unleash.
