Here was the case. One day after another, a universe after another. Today, Philly, tomorrow Dallas. Today, the Road to Rebellion. Tomorrow, the Multiverse of Matches. It’s not really science-fiction, it’s just Impact Wrestling. And a review title from U.N.K.L.E. Ok, beam me up, Scotty! And the case continues…
On the menu this week, from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA, the MCMG will face the Bullet Club. Ten Knockouts will compete in a Battle Royale to determine who will face Tasha Steelz for the IMPACT World Championship at Rebellion. Josh Alexander will square off with Madman Fulton. ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham will find an old friend, this time in the Impact Zone, as he will compete against Kenny King. We’ll finally know what is a “Chomp Chomp” Challenge, thanks to Zicky Dice and Johhny Swinger. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

Tom Hannifan and The Drama King Matthew Rewholdt were on commentary. On ‘BTI’, Taurus w/ Rosemary defeated Deaner w/ Violent By Design in a really good match (BTI is now available only on Impact Wrestling YouTube and Facebook channels at 7.30 PM EST/12.30 AM GMT, and on Impact Plus).

  • After a recap of the events of this weekend and Moose showing up at Josh Alexander’s house to attack his wife, we saw Josh arriving backstage and talking with Scott D’Amore. Scott said he’s going to recommend Moose be stripped of the championship. Josh was pissed off and grabbed Scott by the coat. He told Scott he needs to beat Moose for the championship, no one else, and then walked off.

  • Before his match against Kenny King, Jonathan Gresham said he came here to show the essence of the Ring of Honor. He then brought up how Honor No More came around to show the opposite of what Ring of Honor stands for, honourable and respectable men like CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson and Eddie Edwards, among others. He said that Edwards has lost that honour. Gresham told us that he will face Eddie Edwards at Rebellion and then was interrupted by Kenny King. King said Gresham should be standing by Honor No More but he’s not because he’s really an octopus with all arms and no brain. King said he doesn’t want the worthless piece of metal from a dead company that is the ROH Championship.

  • ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham defeated Kenny King.

  • After the match, Eddie Edwards hit the ring and attacked Jonathan Gresham. Edwards waited to continue the attack but Rocky Romero hit the ring to make the save. He and Gresham sent Honor No More running.

  • Backstage, The Motor City Machine Guns discussed their upcoming match with the Bullet Club with Gia Miller. Shelley reminded Jay White that he helped teach him a lot but must not have taught him math because a three-count equals a win in wrestling. Sabin talked up his match with White tomorrow.

  • Backstage, ROH and AAA Women’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo said that she will continue to push boundaries for Impact as she has tons of options for who her opponent could be for the “Champ Champ” challenge in Dallas.

  • The “Chump Chump” Challenge – Swinger took the mic before the match and told all the Mizzarks in the crowd to listen to him and he called out two ham and eggers to come out and face him and Zicky. The Good Brothers accepted the challenge and this didn’t seem to be what Swinger had in mind. Swinger talked up Zicky as the match got. Gallows and Anderson won in less than a minute.

  • Backstage, Gia Miller asked the Good Brothers why they accepted the Chump Chump Challenge. Karl said that what they just saw is how they became the best tag team in the game. Gallows said they got screwed by Honor No More but that’s ok because, at Rebellion, they’re going through 7 more teams and they hope Honor No More is involved in the tag team gauntlet. Gallows said we’re going to find out exactly how many bullets are in the Briscoes gun. There was some yelling in the background and PCO was screaming for JONAHHHHH.

  • Back from the commercial break, JONAH was there and he and PCO were brawling in the back. JONAH hit a powerbomb onto PCO into a pile of garbage and then laid into him with shots to the face. JONAH had a sledgehammer and started hitting PCO with it in the gut. He set a big brick on PCO and broke it over his stomach. PCO screamed in pain, then sat right up and grabbed JONAH for a chokeslam. JONAH broke the hold and shoved PCO off. PCO sent him face-first into a breaker box, however, there was no electrocution or sparks. PCO set JONAH up into a truck and slammed the door on him over and over before leaving him laying. PCO starts shovelling strategically placed dirt over the body of the fallen JONAH.

  • Josh Alexander defeated Madman Fulton w/ Ace Austin.

  • After the match, Josh refused to let go of the hold and Ace jumped in to break the hold but Josh stared him down and forced him to retreat. Josh stared him down and said that’s what I thought. Fulton caught Josh from behind with a forearm but Josh went right back to the ankle lock and twisted the boot off Fulton’s leg, possibly breaking the ankle of Fulton. Ace continued to retreat, leaving his guy hanging.

  • Backstage, Mike Bailey was watching the events of the previous match unfold and Trey Miguel walked up. Trey told him to keep an eye on Ace as he saw what he just did to his partner for a lot longer than Mike. Bailey looked at Trey and told him that he was fine because he always expects the unexpected.

  • After footage of what happened to Mickie James last week, she said she is pissed at Chelsea and Matt for attacking her. Matt will pay for this when Nick Aldis gets his hands on him. Mickie said at the Multiverse of Matches, it’ll be the “Mid-Cardonas vs. Al-Dis.”

  • Backstage, Gia Miller asked Matt Cardona about their upcoming match. Cardona answered briefly before sending Chelsea to answer for him. Chelsea said that Mickie has asked countless times for Chelsea not to help but, at Sacrifice, Mickie came running to help Chelsea. She doesn’t need to be saved and Mickie’s been tied up and she never gave her a shot at the Championship and now she can’t, but she can get a shot at Mickie. Matt Cardona came out and said tomorrow they’ll show why they’re the power couple of pro-wrestling.

  • Rosemary defeated Savannah Evans, Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne, Havok, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, Gisele Shaw, Lady Frost and Jessica Mckay to become the new #1 contender for the Knockouts Championship. Champion Tasha Steelz was on commentary. Rosemary managed to eliminate both Gisele Shaw and Lady Frost for the win.

  • After a recap of BTI where Black Taurus pinned Deaner, Violent By Design cut a promo. He talked about the Good Brothers saying they took everything they held dear. Eric mentioned the loss to Taurus and said that the sickness can still take from them.

  • Bhupinder Gujjar defeated Aiden Prince. Brian Myers was on commentary.

  • After the match, W. Morrissey came out and brawled with Myers. He lifted Myers up for a powerbomb but Myers grabbed Prince’s leg to stop himself. Prince shoved Morrissey because, apparently, even though he wanted to walk out of his previous fight, he wanted one with Morrissey. Morrissey powerbombed Prince through the table.

  • “Hospital” Masha Slamovich defeated Abby Jane.

  • The Bullet Club (Jay White & Chris Bey) defeated the MCMG (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin).

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

White and Sabin kicked off this one, White had control initially but a blind tag and some combination work from the guns left Jay on the defensive. Bey tried to make the save but the Guns worked him over and sent him to the outside. Shelley was in the ring with White and backed him into his own corner to tag in Sabin. The Guns with more tag work on White, then Sabin locked in a sleeper hold. Jay White went to his feet but right into an octopus stretch from Sabin. Sabin set Bey up on the top rope and hung him up in the Tree of Woe. Jay tried to break it up but got dropped in the opposing corner. Sabin hit a hesitation dropkick on Bey in the corner. They set Bey up and hit him with a Thunder Express. Jay and Bey regained control, sending the guns to the outside. Bey connected with a dive to the outside on both men, posing on the fallen Sabin. Jay told Bey to send Sabin back in the ring. Jay continued with a suplex, Bey with a splash. Shelley just barely broke it up in time. Jay was pissed and yelled at the referee.

Jay continued to distract the referee, allowing him to miss a pinfall from Sabin on Bey. Sabin connected with a headlock, then elbows on Bey, Jay tried to break it up but took a dragon screw. Jay hit a suplex to Sabin, Bey hit the Art of finesse to Sabin and Bey covered. Jay blocked Shelley from breaking it up, allowing Bey to get the victory.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

I am okay with the “Chump Chump” but where was the “Champ Champ?” The challenge was announced 5 days ago on Impact Wrestling Twitter… And nothing…

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts of the Week

– Incredible Rosemary…

I am a huge fan of Rosemary for multiple reasons. She has been a “pillar” for the company like Moose or Eddie. Her character is just amazing and she has never stopped revealing new layers of it. She is at the same time an amazing tag-team and singles wrestler. But I was suspicious to see her win and go to Rebellion. Until a very good friend of mine who is also a huge fan of Impact Wrestling explained to me the choice may have more sense than we think… I will do like George Iceman and keep the mystery but expect a comeback at Rebellion

Impact Wrestling Multiverse of Matches

See you tomorrow with an eNYGMAtic review…

Rebellion

I still don’t have the graphic for the 8-team World Tag Team Championship Elimination Match, but the more we move on, the merrier this card is…

To be eNYGMAtic…

I really sound like a broken record, I know, but I have repeated that, since Hard To Kill, we have been blessed with really good episodes. It was a good one but the Multiverse and Rebellion promos were mixed and that was going everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The PCO/JONAH cinematic orchestra piece was amazing. We had good action, mostly the opener and the main event.
The Mania week is on, Multiverse of Matches will take place in a few hours. Next week, we will have the chance to find the IPWF back on AXS TV. This weekend, there are so many great shows to watch, enjoy most of them… On this “Nygma is a Maniac”, until Multiverse of Matches later today, until next week (oh yes, I want), take care, stay safe, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
