Here was the case. I reviewed Multiverse of Matches this Saturday. I didn’t review SmackDown or Hall of Fame or the ROH PPV. No, I stayed faithful to Impact Wrestling. I heard Tom Hannifan say it was IPWF this week and I couldn’t wait for it. But, no, this week we look back at this last Friday’s event. And I clearly understand Impact Wrestling wanted to give people a second chance. Mania weekend was such a buffet of wrestling it would be sad someone missed a bit of a fantastic show. And the case continues…
On the menu this week, don’t expect from me a second review of the event but a review of the episode, with a few eNYGMAtic additions. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

Josh Mathews was our host this week. On ‘BTI’, The Influence retained the Knockouts Tag Team Championship at “Multiverse of Matches” (BTI is now available only on Impact Wrestling YouTube and Facebook channels at 7.30 PM EST/12.30 AM GMT, and on Impact Plus).

  • Trey Miguel defeated Jordynne Grace, Chris Bey, Blake Christian, Vincent and Rich Swann in an Ultimate-X match to retain the X-Division Championship. After the match, Trey cut a promo about being Champion and saying he plans to retain his championship at Rebellion.

  • Video recap of the issues between Mickie, Chelsea and Matt Cardona. After we saw Mickie James backstage and she said she has seen the true colours of Chelsea Green, she went on to say that there’s one man who has a big problem with Mickie being attacked by Cardona. Aldis joined his wife and said his one-night return to Impact Wrestling should be a special moment but Cardona ruined this moment for him.

  • Mickie James & Nick Aldis defeated Chelsea Green & IMPACT Digital Media Champion Matt Cardona.

  • Rewind on Eddie Edwards’ backstage interview with Gia Miller before his match against Tomohiro Ishii.

  • Tomohiro Ishii defeated Eddie Edwards.

  • JONAH & Josh Alexander defeated PCO & Moose.

  • Leading to their match, White and Sabin each cut a promo.

  • Chris Sabin defeated Jay White. After the match, Maclin attacked Sabin. Jay White stopped him with a NutCracker.

  • Backstage, Sabin said no one expected him to win, he’s been the underdog all his life. Sabin showed off his battered chest from Jay White but he said that Jay will never forget that Sabin beat him in Dallas, Texas. Sabin said that emotions are high but he’s on top of the world because he just beat Jay White.

  • The Good Brothers defeated The Briscoes.

  • Rewind on Deonna’s backstage interview with Gia Miller before her “Champ Champ” Challenge match.

  • Deonna Purrazzo defeated Faby Apache to retain the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. After the match, Deonna cut a promo and called out the Interim ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes. Before she could say all she needs to say, the #1 contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Taya Valkyrie came out and told Deonna she’ll see her at Rebellion.

  • Deonna Purazzo responded to Taya’s challenge. Deonna told Taya if she wants a date for Rebellion, she’s got it but the result will always be the same because the “Champ Champ” is forever here. (the match was made official last Friday…)

  • Backstage, Taya cut another promo talking about how she never lost the Reina de Reinas Championship. She said, at Rebellion, she will become a four-time champion and you better believe it.

  • Mike Bailey defeated Alex Shelley.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

You like the sound of broken records? Me, not…

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts of the Week

– The Briscoes will be back…

I was talking to Eric Young yesterday and I asked him if he would like to wrestle The Briscoes (read the interview to know). But, if they are announced to be there on April 24th for the taping session, why couldn’t they be here at Rebellion?

Rebellion

I still don’t have the graphic for the 8-team World Tag Team Championship Elimination Match, but we now have 8 matches announced for the PPV…

– The Road to Slammiversary…

After Rebellion, Impact Wrestling will tap some new episodes on April 24, May 8, June 13 and 14. Under Siege will be our next Special Event on Impact Plus on May 7. And when it comes to Slammiversary, the company confirmed in a press announcement it would take place in June, in order to celebrate its 20th anniversary (read here). And because of tweets from Ace Austin and our dear Drama King (he has removed it since, so I RT the capture my friend Steve Slam made of it), we can say it will take place in Nashville the same weekend TNA did its first PPV… To be confirmed…

To be eNYGMAtic…

I didn’t have a lot to say, for once, so I was a bit more sassy than usual. I didn’t want to sound like a broken record because I said everything I wanted to say on Saturday. It was a great show with cool surprises and more build-up for Rebellion. Like I said in the Multiverse review and in the intro of this review, two eyes and one brain for so many shows, pure madness… Then, I really invite you to watch more than the bits of matches they aired this week, but the full matches, and not one but the nine. This show was really a must-watch.
On this “Nygma Can Be Sassy Note”, until next week (with the traditional review), take care, stay safe, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
