Welcome back to ChocoPro and to another rapid-fire double-bill of wrestling randomness. We had another two shows to tuck into as Ichigaya drew in some returning faces and celebrations. For 220, we had triple-threat action between Yuna Mizumori, Sayaka, and Masahiro Takanashi, the return of Popcorn Carnival as they take on Baliyan Akki and Tokiko Kirihara, and the main event showdown between Mei Suruga and the returning COLOURS powerhouse Yuko Sakurai. For 221, it was a two-match tirade as Rekka returned to team with Sayuri against Hagane Shinno and Masahiro Takanashi and the main event clash between Popcorn Carnival and Best Bros. There were some big chances for some of the roster today, so let’s see who rose and who fell as we get into the action.
ChocoPro #220
Yuna Mizumori defeated Sayaka & Masahiro Takanashi via Supergirl on Sayaka
Up first today was some triple threat chaos. As per usual it was going to be a frantic fight between three of ChocoPro’s roster as Yuna Mizumori took on Sayaka and Masahiro Takanashi. It was the stand-in boss taking on the Tropical Fairy and the Cosplaying power of Sayaka. These three were going to go all-out in the opening spot. As expected, it made for a fun dose of anarchy as the trio did what they could to win. Mizumori went from being double-teamed to killing everyone in sight, Sayaka unleashed that brutal power and technique whilst forming whatever alliances she needed to, and Takanashi was his usual surly self, cutting down anyone getting too far ahead. It was all very physical and made for the perfect opening match material. Everyone got to shine, especially Sayaka who went from punching bag to powerhouse and back again, never giving in despite the odds. Mizumori got the big win overall but it had been a Sayaka-shaped mountain to climb with Takanashi continuously chipping out rocks to throw at her. Triple-threats are becoming more commonplace in ChocoPro and always deliver something entertaining to watch.

Next up was the reunion of the Popcorn Carnival as Koishikawa and Obihiro reunited to chop the life out of people. The high-energy duo has quite the unique dynamic and were going to get back into the swing of things against the odd-couple pairing of Baliyan Akki and Tokiko Kirihara. I’ve seen Akki and Kirihara fight so often; it was going to be odd to see them co-exist. It opened with a duo of technical clashes between teammates and quickly saw Akki spoiling all the fun of the Carnival as Kirihara posed alongside him. Obihiro got beaten down by the duo and we saw the rare sight of Mei Suruga reprimanding someone for goblin tactics. Ironically, it was Suruga’s shoddy ref work that cost Akki and Kirihara multiple pin attempts. Obihiro had tried to hold out and eventually body-slammed to freedom, bringing in an extra-hyper Koishikawa. Even then, Kirihara found some insanely cool counters using her claw. Akki too felt the wrath of Koishikawa and found himself being locked up, thrown, and dropkicked half to death. She let Obihiro get her vengeance on Akki and we witnessed a brutal chop-out between the duo. Kirihara came to the rescue and tried to twist Obihiro into submission but that and everything else she was throwing at Obihiro couldn’t keep her down. The Carnival unleashed a barrage of double-team manoeuvres and smooth-as-silk combos on both Akki and Kirihara before sealing victory with an inverted Victory Roll on Kirihara. This was a big win for the Carnival. They’d just bested a former tag champ and had punched their ticket to an even higher stakes tag match on the next episode. This was a great showing for the pair and reminded everyone Obihiro has a whole lot of ability she doesn’t always get to tap into. Plus, I’ll never complain about Koishikawa getting wins.
Mei Suruga defeated Yuko Sakurai via Lucifer
The first main event of the double-bill was bringing back some COLOURS to the Chocolate Square. It would be Mei Suruga, the Apple Girl (or Goblin depending on who you asked) against one of the powerhouses of the group, Yuko Sakurai. These two are both great at what they do so this was going to make for a fun match. Sakurai looked to get under Suruga’s skin early by flaunting an obvious strength advantage. The pair went into a battle for arm control and Suruga brought out early goblin tactics. Sakurai started throwing Suruga around and Suruga continued to play deviously. Suruga took full control of the match with a whole host of window-based shenanigans and began bending the arms. Sakurai wasn’t going to take this lying down and ferociously fought back, murdering Suruga’s back with a Camel Clutch, at least until Suruga bit back. Suruga took flight again as Sakurai got angry but the crafty apple girl just bit into Sakurai again and started mockingly beating on her again. The duo got even more competitive as the pair kept countering and started stretching her out across the window before trying to break her back again. The wall became Suruga’s best friend and quickly her worst enemy as she slid off it attempting the mini spider. We got the first instance of Apple Mutilation and a new Armbreaker submission but Sakurai found the wall. The slugs came out and both fighters teed off on each other until Suruga dropkicked her in the mouth. The pair both went for the kill as Suruga had to fight off an extended stay in the Dragon Sleeper. Suruga narrowly escaped and floated through a slam to twist the arm into position for Lucifer. Sakurai had to tap and Suruga took another big win. The pair had just put on a vicious display of wrestling ability with them both treating the match like a chess game with some goblin tactics thrown throughout. Suruga came to fight and overcame size and strength to take the win.
ChocoPro #221
Hagane Shinno & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Rekka & Sayuri via Pin Counter on Sayuri

It was Shinno’s 20th wrestling anniversary and to celebrate he was teaming up with Masahiro Takanashi against the returning Rekka and the ChocoPro Ninja Sayuri. This could prove to be one hell of a hard-hitting one if Rekka and Shinno were unleashed on each other. Things were even more heated as they were all arguing about beauty, especially Shinno and Sayuri. The heated pair started off in a technical showdown with Shinno trying to impose his will on her. The Ninja brought out her tricks but couldn’t quite get the win this early on. They tagged and Takanashi locked up with Rekka. He went in confident but Rekka was getting the better of Takanashi before taking the time to pose with Sayuri. Their synergy was disrupted and the disgruntled duo took out their anger on Sayuri’s face. Rekka tried to come to his partner’s aid but his efforts were for naught and the pair just kept trying to disfigure Sayuri in the most ghoulish of ways. Rekka got to exact some revenge on her behalf but he too got mauled by the face-breakers. Rekka and Shinno got into a super-charged exchange with both countering each other with ease. Takanashi ruined Rekka’s momentum and got to break his nose but couldn’t keep him down and made the hot tag. Sadly, the hot tag was instantly extinguished by more shots to the face. That lit another fire and the Ninja powered up to light the nasty duo up with a combo of shots alongside Rekka. She tried to hold off the pair and take the win with a Crucifix but Shinno was in a position to counter and pulled Takanashi into the pin. That got the win and Shinno got to have a victorious anniversary. This made for a compelling little watch as Rekka showed out and we got the dedication to the destruction of Sayuri’s beauty. Again, perfect opening match fodder and greatly enjoyable to watch.
Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) defeated Sayaka Obihiro & Chie Koishikawa via Namaste Press to Obihiro
Last but not least, the second main event. Popcorn Carnival had bested Akki yesterday when he wasn’t with his go-to tag partner so now, the matchmakers had given them a second crack at the Super Asia champion alongside his best bro, Mei Suruga. Was Popcorn Carnival about to make lightning strike price and further rise up the ranks or was their roller-coaster ride about to come off the tracks? It opened with high-energy vs goblin tactics and gave way to more killjoy antics from Akki as he stopped the carnival in its tracks. Obihiro became a Best Bros punching bag with Koishikawa unable to do anything to stop the onslaught. The arm wrecking began and Obihiro found that Akki was just as willing to destroy her limbs as Suruga was. They even locked Koishikawa outside so she couldn’t make a save. The Best Bros were just torturing Obihiro but you can’t keep the Iron Chef down and she powered up… only to get knocked back down by Akki. Koishikawa arrived back on the scene and set the carnival ride in motion, helping Obihiro obliterate the bros with double-team madness. Koishikawa and Suruga kept the pace high and the counters coming as Akki rocked up to tip the tide in Best Bros’ favour once again. Obihiro took over and we got the second intense clash between her and Akki of the double-bill. This one was just as vicious and saw Obihiro try to twist Akki into quitting. He broke free and Best Bros ended up making a chain of submissions, copying their nemeses, CDK. The match exploded and we had every fighter for themselves as Obihiro gave a last-ditch effort but Akki planted her again and Suruga took Koishikawa out of the equation with the Gateau Invisible. Akki sealed the deal with a Namaste Splash and Best Bros had left with another win under their belts. It had been a masterclass in tag team torture as Best Bros took the Carnival on and won. With Akki having his deadly friend by his side, he avenged the loss Obihiro and Koishikawa had given him. They still showed out but Koishikawa and Obihiro have a way to go to get to the top.
