Here was the case. The time-lapse between Rebellion and Under Siege has been extremely short but extremely exciting. The absolutely not Forbidden doors opened by Rebellion are providing us with a fantastic card of matches for Saturday, which is fantastic for the wrestling fans we are. If Deonna Purrazzo has no more belts around her waist, she earns the right to keep the title of Champion. The Virtuosa is the Champion of our hearts. In the Impact Zone, there’s a place for everyone, every Champion, every talent, every style… As long as they fight… After all, you always need to be 2 to dance the tango… And the case continues…
On the menu this week, from Poughkeepsie, NY, PCO will face off JONAH in a Monsters Ball Match. Brian Myers and W. Morrissey will compete in a Tables match. Chris Bey and Jay White will team up against Willie Mack and Rich Swann. Ace Austin will put the X-Division title on the line against Rocky Romero. Steve Maclin will square off with NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii. So, no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

Tom Hannifan and The Drama King Matthew Rewholdt were on commentary. On ‘BTI’, Tenille Dashwood w/ Madison Rayne defeated Gisele Shaw. (BTI is now available only on Impact Wrestling YouTube and Facebook channels at 7.30 PM EST/12.30 AM GMT and on Impact Plus)

  • W. Morrissey defeated Brian Myers by throwing Brian Myers into a table. Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, and Jordynne Grace were involved. Cardona was also thrown into a table.

  • Backstage, Willie Mack and Rich Swann were with Gia Miller. Willie said that they have to deal with Bullet Club, and they have bullets but they don’t get the gun. Cardona interrupted, Gia said this is an interview, but he replied that he doesn’t care. Swann took offence to this and let Cardona know. Cardona told Swann maybe if he was more like him, he might still be World Champion. Swann challenged Cardona for his Digital Media Championship. Cardona changed the subject and said he has to get Myers to the hospital before rushing off with him.

  • Ace Austin defeated Rocky Romero to retain the X-Division Championship.

  • As Austin was celebrating, Trey Miguel hit the ring and dropped Ace. He told him to keep the X-Division Championship warm for him because his days are numbered. Trey is cashing in his rematch at Under Siege and he plans to leave as a 2-time X-Division Champion.

  • Backstage, IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander told Gia Miller he once stood here as the X-Division Champion, telling her he’d one day be the face of the company, and now he’s just that. As the face he has to be ready for all challenges, he put over Ishii and said he’ll be watching his match tonight but, at Under Siege, he will retain the Championship and show he’s the best wrestler on earth.

  • Another EGV video package, this time with a date, 7.5.22, and only 2 faces burning, Eric Young and Moose.

  • Masha Slamovich sent Damaris to the Hospital Masha in less than a minute.

  • Backstage, Raj Singh with Shera called out Bhupinder Gujjar and let him know that he could’ve aligned with Singh but it’s too late now. Shera talked tough and they let him know to stay out of their way or Shera will take care of him.

  • Backstage, The Briscoes warned VBD they have 2 days left as Tag Champions. They said where they go they run the show. Jay continued, saying that we’re looking at the new champions before Eric Young interrupted with a video of his own seemingly hacked into the program. Eric said they’re brothers by circumstance but they are brothers by choice and Champions by design. EY said they will show them that this world does belong to them.

  • Bullet Club (Chris Bey & Jay White) defeated Willie Mack & Rich Swann when Bey hit Mack with The Art of Finesse. After the match, as Jay and Bey were celebrating their win, they got jumped by Honor No More. The Good Brothers hit the ring to make the save, allowing the Bullet Club to send Honor No More out of the ring.

  • We saw Tasha and Savannah Evans go down some stairs. They got trapped in the Realm. Steve and Havok haunted Tasha while Rosemary was taking care of Savannah.

  • In a hype video, Deonna Purrazzo discussed her successes while Taya Valkyrie was sent packing. Taya responded and said Deonna doesn’t realize that she doesn’t know anything about her history as AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. Deonna said the Champion makes the Championship while Taya said she would’ve never won if Taya didn’t vacate the Championship.

  • Tomohiro Ishii defeated Steve Maclin.

  • Swinger was outside of his dungeon with Zicky Dice and gave him a gag ball to wear, a hot chick on her way to the dungeon got Zicky all excited when she whipped him.

  • PCO defeated JONAH in the 53rd edition of the Monsters Ball.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

The 5 matches announced were all good, very different styles but all very good. So what to choose? All the matches could have fit a PPV. I could do my “French Nygma loves her French Canadian Frankenstein” and choose PCO vs JONAH Monsters’ Ball.

That would be very Frenchy, very sassy, but that would be lacking respect for Ace Austin who did a great match against a Legend like Rocky Romero.

When it comes to “Hospital” Masha, it’s time for her to wrestle Knockouts and not jobbers. She is utterly talented, able of everything and every match. She has wrestled in more promotions than any other wrestler, male or female, since the beginning of this year.

That would also be a lack of respect for “Will & Grace” because, if the interferences were to expect from Chelsea, Cardona, and Jordynne, Myers and Morrissey did something good.

Of course, there was also some undeniable magic in Bullet Club vs Swann & Mack match.

And, even if you all know that Japanese wrestling is not my cup of tea, Tomohiro Ishii vs Steve Maclin was also a great match.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

Where can I sign in to the Swinger’s Dungeon? I whip very hard…

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts of the Week

– Being a Champion is not always a matter of titles…

Deonna Purrazzo said earlier that the Champion makes the Championship. But the Championship has never made the Champion. Some have no titles around their waists but that doesn’t mean they’re not Champions. Deonna Purrazzo may not be AAA and ROH Women’s Champion but she is a true Champion in our hearts.

– Thank you, JONAH…

At Turning Point, last November, JONAH made his striking debut, attacking Josh Alexander and leaving him bloodied. During the last 5 or 6 months, he had been a great talent for the company. He knew he wasn’t there for a long time as he is NJPW bound but he gave everything he had in the Impact Zone. See you soon, JONAH…

– THE Mack

This review is done, but I felt the need to thank Willie Mack for everything he had brought to IMPACT. Before he signed with the company in 2018, I found out about Willie Mack in Lucha Underground. I couldn’t believe a man his size could move like he was, like a high-flyer. He was a perfect fit for Impact Wrestling and it was not a surprise to see him become X-Division Champion as the pandemic was started. His purple eyes were full of determination, pride, and passion. I loved writing about him and his prowesses in the ring. Thank you, Willie Mack…

Under Siege

Here is the complete card for the show. I ask myself where EGV will insinuate into it, but I love surprises…

To be eNYGMAtic…

That’s the kind of episode you watch, not one you talk about. You enjoy every second of it, you take pleasure in watching tables or ladders being broken, you enjoy a high-flying style bout or a classic Strong Style match… This episode was also a buffet of everything IMPACT can offer, high-flying, hardcore, deathmatch-style, Strong Style, or “classic” wrestling. The Impact Zone is the place for ALL kinds of wrestling and wrestlers. Everything is possible.
If you read these words, you obviously understood I loved this episode. The recipe “action + cinematic orchestra + backstage promos” was perfectly respected. Ok, I will complain about Masha Slamovich being given jobbers because I need to tickle the company a bit because, remember, when I find nothing to criticize, some say it’s umbrella time because we can expect a frog storm.
I can’t wait for Under Siege, I can’t wait for what’s next as Impact Wrestling is taping new episodes on May 8, 13, and 14.
On this “Nygma Will Be Under Siege Note”, until Saturday night, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
