Here is the case. They were the Future nearly 20 years ago. If they are a bit of the past now, they remain our present, in the ring. A bit older, not really rusted, but still competing as the young and idealistic wrestlers they were. What have I asked some of them very often? 40 is the new 20… It’s so damn true (and I know what I’m talking about)… And the case continues…
On the menu, this week, from Kissimmee, FL, Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian will fight as if they were still the Future they were told they are. Chelsea Green will face off against Jordynne Grace. The IMPACT World Tag Team Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe will team up with IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander against Violent By Design. Masha Slamovich will square off with Havok. Mahabali Shera and Raj Singh will wrestle the team of Bhupinder Gujjar and W. Morrissey.
The third Ultimate-X Qualifier match will see Alex Shelley compete against Trey Miguel. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

Tom Hannifan and The Drama King Matthew Rewholdt were on commentary. On ‘BTI, Laredo Kid defeated Black Taurus w/ Crazzy Steve in an excellent match (BTI is now available only on Impact Wrestling YouTube and Facebook channels at 7.30 PM EST/12.30 AM GMT and on Impact Plus).

  • Trey Miguel defeated Alex Shelley to win a spot in the Ultimate-X Match for the X-Division Championship at Slammiversary 20.

  • Backstage, The Briscoes and Josh Alexander were with Gia Miller who asked for their thoughts on their upcoming match tonight. The Briscoes went off on VBD and said they may have numbers but tonight they have help. JoshAlexander said that Eric may have a history as Champion but, to take it back, he’s going to have to be better than he’s ever been. As Josh walked off, the Good Brothers walked up on the Briscoes and said they’ll never be considered the real champions until they’ve beaten the Good Brothers. Karl Anderson said their reign doesn’t count until they beat the Good Brothers so Jay said, “let’s make it count.”

  • Masha Slamovich defeated Havok w/ Rosemary in like one minute and a half. After the match, Steve and Taurus came to the ring as Masha was coming backstage. Rosemary seemed very worried to see her friend laying down in the middle of the ring.

  • Backstage, Alex Shelley gave Trey Miguel props for his victory. Blake Christian met him backstage and celebrated his victory with him. Kenny King walked up and talked trash, so Blake gave him some trash talk back. King told Blake he has no idea who he even is but, if he listens to King, he could be somebody. Blake called Kenny out for a match and asked him to put his Ultimate-X spot on the line. Kenny said he earned that but Trey talked him into it.

  • Backstage, Rich Swann called out Matt Cardona again and told him to quit running (the match is taking place tomorrow night at the Wrestling Revolver show). He then set his sights on Matthew Rehwoldt for eliminating him in the Gauntlet for the Gold. He doesn’t care if it takes him all night long, but he will get his revenge.

  • Jordynne Grace defeated Chelsea Green.

  • Backstage, Scott D’Amore was approached for a match between the Good Brothers and The OGK after the Good Brothers hurt Maria last week. D’Amore said that match would’ve been so great 10 minutes ago but he already booked the Briscoes vs. The Good Brothers. This upset Honor No More who said if they don’t get their match, so no one gets a match before walking away.

  • Backstage, Deonna Purrazzo told Gia Miller that, whether she’s the “Champ Champ” or not, she’s the face of the Impact Knockouts division. Deonna promised to make history but this prompted Tasha Steelz to walk up and say the only current knockout who has made history is Tasha Steelz after she won the first-ever Knockouts X-Division match. Tasha said she’s not here to pick a fight, she said they’re not friends but they have something in common in Mia Yim. Tasha told Deonna that there will be an open spot for her at ringside and they can end the Mia Yim problem before it begins. Deonna shook her head in agreement as Tasha walked away.

  • Chris Sabin vs Frankie Kazarian ended in a double DQ as Honor No More attacked both of them.

  • After the match, backstage, Honor No More asked why Impact gets to celebrate 20 years after they spent 20 years disrespecting talent. Vincent asked what exactly we are celebrating here. Eddie said, 20 years of disrespect and lies shown to this industry and more importantly to Honor No More. Heath and Rhino walked up saying they all sound stupid. Heath said they got fired and put on the curb, and so did he, but Impact gave him an opportunity just like them. Rhino said Impact was the only company to give him an opportunity in 2005. Rhino called them complaining pieces of shit and a big argument broke up suddenly and security appeared.

  • Bhupinder Gujjar & W. Morrissey defeated Mahabali Shera & Raj Singh.

  • Backstage, Gia Miller asked Moose about his upcoming tag team match and the possibility of Sami Callihan getting involved. Moose told Sami he knows what he was doing. Maclin walked up and told Moose he needs to get Sami out of his head, Moose said he was not in his head and he was ready. We got some weird technical glitch, it seemed like Sami was not that far…

  • Violent By Design (Eric Young, Deaner & Joe Doering) defeated IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes & IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander when Eric Young hit a piledriver on Mark Briscoe.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

After a handshake, Trey and Shelley exchanged holds, Shelley took Trey to the mat with a wrist lock but Trey countered out and both men separated. Shelley backed Trey into the ropes, the ref forced the break, and Shelley attempted a chop but Trey ducked it. Shelley and Trey exchanged headlocks and kept the pace relatively slow early. Shelley off the ropes looked for a baseball slide but Trey ducked it and hit a double stomp onto Shelley leaving both men down. Both men went to their feet, Trey from the middle rope flipped over Shelley, then hit a series of kicks and a double stomp to Shelley’s back as he started to take control. Sabin and Kaz exchanged holds, with Kaz maintaining control for a majority of the time early. Sabin countered into a wristlock but Kaz countered out and looked for a hip toss. Sabin countered and went for a backslide before a roll-up exchange for two both times. Kaz went right into a headlock. Sabin dumped Kaz to the outside. Sabin sent Kaz face-first into the post and then onto the apron. Sabin hit a pretty running kick to Kaz’s face and then broke the ten-count.

Sabin again went for the Cradle Shock DDT and it was blocked. Both men off the ropes hit running crossbodies at the same time. And Honor no more hit the ring, ending the match…

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

Moose has better “Control His Narrative” because he really freaked out backstage. If the CYN method by EC3 is not working on him anymore, may I advise him the Bam Sullivan’s CYN method?

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts/Awards of the Week

– Wrestling Reinvented

2022 as if we were in 2004…

– The Kaiju Queen vs Hospital Masha – Volume II

That preview that started to air earlier was so scary it led me to think Masha could defeat the former Knockouts Champion Havok is. The fact she did it that fast and so violently was even scarier. I do think Rosemary will have to call Father James Mitchell to give Havok back her natural evilness and her fighting spirit.

– The World Champion vs a TNA Original – Volume III

Once again, Eric Young was underestimated by Josh Alexander. The closer we get to Slammiversary, the more tension is rising. That will definitely be an epic match, a true Canadian bout, and absolutely Violent by Design…

– Slammiversary 20

Four matches are set now, I still think the party will be unique on its own…

To be eNYGMAtic…

I have to give the credit of this review’s title to Chris Sabin. His words were fitting perfectly not only his match but the whole episode.
Once again, a pretty good episode action-wise but, this time, with enough promos and backstage segments. We are on The Road to Slammiversary, which means some necessary build-up. We’re now 3 weeks away for the PPV, some things need to be said and done. Once again, I will stop with that… No, I talked to Speedball Mike Bailey earlier this week, please give it a read…
On this “Nygma is Definitely on The Road to Slammiversary” note, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
