Major League Wrestling today announced Mini Abismo Negro and Matt Cross as participants in the 40-wrestler Battle Riot as MLW returns to New York City’s Melrose Ballroom on June 23, featuring an MLW Fusion TV taping.
Strange Sangre’s mischievous mini Luchador will make his Battle Riot and NYC debut on June 23. The sinister member of Gangrel’s new brood vows to conjure up chaos. Often blasting a mini blowtorch when he goes to the ring, could Mini Abismo use this dangerous weapon in the Battle Riot? A match that embraces no disqualifications certainty puts the explosive foreign object in play on June 23. Sneaky and evasive, Mini Abismo may just be the perfect size with the perfect approach to steal the Riot.
Fresh off of a tour of Latin America, international veteran Matt Cross will Riot on June 23 as he hopes to keep his momentum going by overcoming 39 other wrestlers in a match where a new participant enters every 60 seconds!
Fresh off of a win over TJP, Matt Cross is ready to wrestle forever when he enters the Battle Riot and has to contend with a ring full of wrestlers all vying for a crack at the champ. Making his MLW debut in 2004, Cross has collected titles all over the world but gold has eluded him in Major League Wrestling.
Will the popular punk rock DIY wrestler have the grit to outlast 39 other wrestlers in MLW’s literal largest match of the year? And then there’s the unknown: will good fortune be on Strange Sangre’s side, enabling Gangrel’s devout followers to enter the Riot in relativity close proximity? Find out LIVE in New York City on June 23 at MLW Battle Riot IV.
WHAT IS THE BATTLE RIOT?
A mash-up of a battle royal, royal rumble and Anything-Goes Street Fight, this super-sized main event will feature 40 wrestlers with new participants entering the ring every 60 seconds. There will be surprises! There will be legends! There will be WTF entries… and there will be no disqualifications. Elimination is by pinfall, submission, or throwing an individual over the top rope. Anything is possible in a Battle Riot.
WHAT DOES THE WINNER GET?
The winner gets a World Heavyweight Title Shot anywhere, anytime. It could be that night; it could be in 6 months. The challenger has the key to unlock an instant title shot against whoever the champion is.
Battle Riot Participants:
Lince Dorado, Marshall Von Erich, Killer Kross, Calvin Tankman, Alex Kane, Jacob Fatu, EJ Nduka, Matt Cross, Mini Abismo Negro, and more to be announced in the days ahead.
