Welcome back to Paradigm and another night of hard-hitting, technical action from within the UWFI division. it was going to be another parade of new and regular faces battering the hell out of each other for personal glory and the chance to permanently enter this unique roster. The mountain is always there to be climbed and these combatants all had their gear on to do so. On tonight’s show, Dimitri Alexandrov debuts against Casey Carrington IV, The CREEPS are back as they take on the redneck kung-fu of DDTrash, Flash Thompson battles Luis Casanova, the RAAGE Dojo is in action against Angelo Carter, and the debuting Orion Starlight and, in the main event Austin Connelly and Jackson Stone duke it out in a Title Eliminator match. Let’s get into the action… after these commercial rule reminders.
As it’s UWFI, we’re not just wrestling. There’s a specific set of rules to follow. Matches can be won by submission, knockout, ref stoppage, or, by draining your opponent of points. How do you do that exactly? Well, rope breaks, suplexes with intent to KO, and knockdowns will all drain various amounts of points. You run out of your 15 allotted points; you lose. Points can also be lost for intentionally breaking the code of conduct so fight clean or pay the price. Fights are meant to be short, sweet, and as deadly as possible. Let’s see who benefitted today, shall we?
Dimitri Alexandrov defeated Casey Carrington IV via Knee to the Head
The first fight of the night saw the Young Trendsetter Casey Carrington IV back in action for his second battle of the series. This time, he was taking on the bear fighter and Vladimir Putin’s least favourite wrestler, Dimitri Alexandrov. Carrington was still trying to find that first glory, was he going to get it against the debuting Alexandrov? No, he could not. He got some heavy shots in and dropped Alexandrov on his head with a hard Saito but Alexandrov just got back up and bitch slapped him. It was over quickly with Alexandrov KO’ing Carrington with a knee to the skull. It was efficient and brutal and Alexandrov just made himself even more popular by dropping a promo on Putin. The Bear-Fighter wants more competition and the UWFI division will be happy to give it to him. They’ll need to prepare themselves though, Alexandrov can drop a grizzly bear, imagine what he could do to you…
DDTrash (Bruce Grey & Tyler Voxx) defeated CREEPS (Andey Ripley & Irving West) via Butterfly Guillotine on West
Up next was a tag team affair. It was the beloved white-trash grapplers DDTrash taking on the uniquely gifted CREEPS. Bruce Grey and Tyler Voxx were about to put their trashy Kung-fu to the test against the Talented King of the Intergender Match Andey Ripley and the Floral Prince with the wettest hands in wrestling Irving West. This one promised to bring the fun as well as the grappling acumen. It was time for Shooter Grey-cie out to show everyone something. Grey was on comedic fire here, purposefully taking it easy to make sure he didn’t kill his opponents. We saw the Grey squawking style as he fled from Ripley, proper headbutt selling as West used his best weapon multiple times, and a proper display of a safe Kimura Lock that Ripley could navigate with ease. It seemed that DDTrash was terrified of Ripley so when West was in, Grey made the hot tag and Voxx finished things with proper grappling and an excellent Butterfly Suplex into a Guillotine. It all made for a fun little match with both teams having a laugh alongside their graps. DDTrash want in at those UWFI tag team Titles now too. EMS got the ball rolling, more people now want in.
Flash Thompson (w/the Brand) defeated Luis Casanova via Rear-Naked Choke
It wouldn’t be a Paradigm show without a visit from the Ben Shearin Brand and tonight would prove to be no different as Flash Thompson came out as the brand’s ambassador. With Lobo Okami and Ben Shearin in tow, the Golden Gloves boxer was ready to take the fight to the Dominican Hercules Luis Casanova. Thompson was outsized here but that’s never stopped him before. He was talking smack right until the point Casanova picked him up and threw him halfway across the ring. This trend continued as Casanova had Thompson’s number and kept throwing him around like a ragdoll. Sadly, that didn’t lead to victory as Thompson cunningly took out Casanova’s legs and locked in his hooks around Casanova’s back and neck. He sunk in the choke and Casanova had to tap. The tables turned and Flash got to prove he’s back with a big win over a bigger foe. He wants Hoodfoot again so we know what should be lurking in the future when Hoodfoot comes around again. Until then, Thompson wants it all. He’s stronger than ever and ready to kill. Casanova had given him hell but he’d powered back through and used cunning to win. Never doubt Flash.
RAAGE Dojo (Schwartzy & Josh Crane) defeated Angelo Carter & Orion Starlight via Figure Four on Starlight
After a throwback to the first-ever UWFI contender’s series fight between Big Beef and Lord Crewe, we were hit with more tag team action. Josh Crane and Schwartzy were going from beating each other up to teaming up as they looked to show off the wrath of the RAAGE Dojo. Their foes were going to be the Moment-Making Money Dragon Angelo Carter and the debuting Orion Starlight. We’ve seen what happens when Crane and Schwartzy attack each other, what were they going to do as a team? Win, that’s what. Starlight and Schwartzy gave us a grappling masterclass whilst Crane and Carter struck up a storm. It was another excellent tag bout with all four fighters giving their best before Schwartzy got the hot tag, took out Starlight’s knee, and took the win with the Figure Four. The RAAGE Dojo had made a bold statement here and once Schwartzy had gotten the mic, he laid out their intentions to no longer be underappreciated. If there were Tag Titles, they were coming for them. With power and technicality on their side, they just might take them. Also, just to take a moment, I want to see more Angelo Carter. He oozes swagger and has a fighting style that’s fun to watch. He’d make a great fit, just needs a win now.
Title Eliminator: Austin Connelly defeated Jackson Stone via Stomp Out
Last but not least, the main event. It was time to be terrified as the Suplex Shogun, Jackson Stone looked to knock the Mad Dog, Austin Connelly, out of the title scene. These two juggernauts of the division were about to collide over a shot at the Heavy-Hitters Title. These two needed a few excuses to turn up the brutality but adding a title shot into the mix just meant they were going to go even harder. Holy shit, this was awesome. Two intimidating figures just beating the absolute hell out of each other. Stone had the early match on lock by throwing Connelly around like he was nothing. It’s rare to see the Mad Dog manhandled but Stone seemed to have him on a choke chain of Suplexes. Each time Stone threw him, Connelly rose like the dead and started throwing hands. Eventually, he was able to hit Stone with the gut wrenches and had the Shogun reeling before ending things with those vicious stomps. Stone tanked the first lot but once one hit him square in the mouth, it was over. Stone nearly had Connelly beat but that inhuman level of pain resistance just can’t be broken at the moment. Connelly is dead set on getting that Heavy-Hitters Title and with a win over Stone, he is one step closer to achieving that goal. Hell hath no fury like a Mad Dog on a mission. Then again, I don’t think this will be the last time we see this pair face off considering they brawled past Earl Joseph into the credits.
