MLW announced that Los Maximos, Savio Vega and Dragon Gate’s La Estrella will participate in the 40-wrestler Battle Riot as MLW returns to New York City’s Melrose Ballroom on June 23, featuring an MLW Fusion TV taping.

After 2 years, the gate from Japan continues to open as Dragon Gate’s La Estrella is coming to Major League Wrestling, making his American debut next Thursday in New York City at the Battle Riot. A member of Shun Skywalker’s Masquerade stable in Dragon Gate, La Estrella is one of the promotion’s most promising stars. A cutting-edge high-flyer Estrella mixes Japanese wrestling and Lucha for a thrilling blend of blistering speed and innovation.

“I’ve been a huge fan of La Estrella since I first saw him two years ago,” says MLW CEO Court Bauer. “We’ve been readying for this for some time and finally that day has come with the extraordinary La Estrella kicking this off. This year’s Battle Riot will be a world’s showcase with no less than 4 organizations sending spectacular talent to compete in the Riot and it starts with La Estrella!”

In February 2020, MLW and Dragon Gate announced a strategic alliance. However, the COVID-19 pandemic complicated the ability of the two organizations to team up. Now the wait is over. Ho Ho Lun was the first Dragon Gate representative to journey to MLW earlier this year. Now La Estrella enters ready to impress and contend for championships.

La Estrella’s goal is simple: return to Dragon Gate with a title shot anytime anywhere. But in order to do so, La Estrella must outlast and outfight 39 other participants. Will La Estrella’s star eclipse all others in the Big Apple as he conquers the Battle Riot?

MLW originals Joel and Jose Maximo make their return home to MLW and fight before their hometown crowd as they hope to rock the Battle Riot and grab their ticket to a title fight anytime, anywhere against Hammerstone.
If MLW’s Spanish Announce Team gets a little luck with their entry numbers, the scrappy brothers from Queens could be unstoppable.

The pride of Puerto Rico, the legendary Savio Vega returns to his home away from home on June 23rd with his eyes set on punching his ticket to title town. Splitting his time between the South Bronx and Puerto Rico, the brawling boricua is battle-tested and experienced in chaotic matches. With four decades of bloodied wars, big title fights and high stake showdowns, Vega could have a key advantage over all others: experience in the unexpected. As one of the Caribbean’s all-time greats, Vega has had a lot of memorable nights fighting in the Big Apple. Will the Riot be the greatest?

A mash-up of a battle royal, royal rumble and Anything-Goes Street Fight, this super-sized main event will feature 40 wrestlers with new participants entering the ring every 60 seconds. There will be surprises! There will be legends! There will be WTF entries… and there will be no disqualifications. Elimination is by pinfall, submission, or throwing an individual over the top rope. Anything is possible in a Battle Riot.

The winner gets a World Heavyweight Title Shot anywhere, anytime. It could be that night; it could be in 6 months. The challenger has the key to unlock an instant title shot against whoever the champion is.

Scarlett Bordeaux will face off Clara Carreras as MLW presents Battle Riot IV at New York City’s Melrose Ballroom on June 23, featuring an MLW Fusion TV taping. The Women’s featherweight division takes shape with a big bout signed for MLW’s return to New York City next Thursday with Scarlett Bordeaux vs. Clara Carreras.

Scarlett Bordeaux will make her MLW in-ring debut as MLW’s newest featherweight fighter vows her opponent cannot stop the unstoppable. Known as the Doomsday Duo, along with her husband Killer Kross, Bordeaux and Kross have left a path of destruction in their wake from Mexico to the US. Now, they have set their eyes on MLW as they look to turn up the heat in New York City on June 23.

Known as “La Chica”, Clara Carreras has impressed on the northeastern circuit, collecting wins as the California native emerged as a prospect to keep an eye on. Promising destruction and domination, what happens when Scarlett Bordeaux clashes with Clara Carreras?
