WWE issued the following statement on the NXT/PC cuts: “With the continued evolution of NXT 2.0, we’ve decided to part ways with some of the staff based in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”
According to different sources, WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” Brian James and NXT producer Road Dogg, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products Sarah Cummins, WWE’s Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting William Regal, NXT Creative Dave Kapoor, NXT Creative producers Ryan Katz, Ace Steel and George Carroll, and veteran pro wrestler and former referee turned NXT backstage producer Scott Armstrong were released today.
More names were revealed later. Coaches Hideki Suzuki and Allison Danger, wrestlers/coaches Danny Burch and Timothy Thatcher were released too.
If it wasn't for William Regal a lot of your favorite guys wouldn't be on television. He got so many of us "indie guys" an opportunity. He will never take credit for that, but he deserves his flowers for helping and molding this generation of wrestlers. #ThankYouRegal pic.twitter.com/ib8GFIHHzE
