Here is the case. Rebellion time is over. Well, it is supposed to be. When new players are entering the game, there’s another rebellion in the making. Just enough time to close a chapter and a new one is already starting to tell us a new story. But the title of the book never changes, WE ARE IMPACT WRESTLING. And the case continues…
On the menu this week, from Poughkeepsie, NY, in a rematch of Rebellion, Josh Alexander will face off Moose again, but this time with Josh as the Champion. The MCMG will team up with Mike Bailey against Honor No More. Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans will compete against Havok and Rosemary. VSK will square off with Bhupinder Gujjar. And The Briscoes will make their return to the Impact Zone. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

Tom Hannifan and The Drama King Matthew Rewholdt were on commentary. On ‘BTI’, Vincent defeated Crazzy Steve in a very good match that ended with a handshake (BTI is now available only on Impact Wrestling YouTube and Facebook channels at 7.30 PM EST/12.30 AM GMT and on Impact Plus).

  • IMPACT World Tag Team Champions VBD came out and Eric Young cut a promo, saying they desired power and control and they took it at Rebellion by running through and beating 7 of the best tag teams the world had to offer. He added the picture that you saw that night, the picture you’re looking at right now, it’s permanent. That picture is forever. And no one can do anything about it. He said again that this world doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to us.

  • Heath and Rhino made their way to the ring. Rhino said he hears New York and New York will hear him too because, at Rebellion, they got the retribution we deserved. He told Eric Young he still hears his voices in the back of his mind from the time Rhino was brainwashed by Young. He said they have some unfinished business. And retribution is not the only thing they want. Heath and he want those tag team titles. He asked the crowd if they want him and Heath to beat VBD for those tag team titles.

  • The Briscoes made their way to the ring. DEM BOYS IS IN THE HOUSE! Jay said if they didn’t think they would not come back after what happened at Multiverse of Matches, they are all crazy as hell. They have won titles everywhere they have been and they are coming for the Impact titles.

  • Heath told The Briscoes he’s excited to see them here but they can’t just walk in and get a championship shot. He told them to get to the back of the line. Jay said they don’t get in the back of the line for nobody. Heath refused to let Dem Boys get in their way. Eric told them to figure it out themselves and whoever is left standing, VBD will see them then. Rhino got heated and asked the Briscoes if they want to fight them right now, Jay said, get a ref out here let’s do it.

  • The Briscoes defeated Heath & Rhino to become the new #1 Contenders for the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship.

  • Backstage, Moose told Scott D’Amore he just gave them the best damn match they’ve ever had and this is how he gets repaid. D’Amore told Moose he’d rather spend time with Josh than Moose but he gave him his time to be champion. Scott told Moose he’s looking at things wrong, he needs to go out there and be the best. The winner of tonight will face a handpicked opponent at Under Siege and he thought Moose would be up for that. Moose said he doesn’t give a damn who he faces at Under Siege because he’s going to win tonight. He insulted Josh and his family before walking off.

  • Video package for EGV (see below).
  • Bhupinder Gujjar defeated VSK. After the match, Shera came out and got in Gujjar’s face, Raj Singh held him back as Shera beat down VSK. Gujjar and Shera exchanged words and Singh held Shera back from the fight.

  • Backstage, X-Division Champion Ace Austin told Gia Miller he became Champion all alone, despite people thinking he would need help. He always had Trey Miguel’s number. Rocky Romero walked up and told Ace he could get him in the Best of the Super Juniors, Ace said that would be great but he got cocky telling him to get off his set during his interview. Romero told Ace to put his championship on the line against him next week. Ace told him he’d love to but he doesn’t make the match, Rocky said he’ll go talk to his good friend Scott D’Amore. Gia asked Ace what he thinks and he went to leave before being stopped by Mike Bailey.

  • Backstage, Steve Maclin saw Scott D’Amore announce he would be hand-picking the next challenger for the Impact Championship and somehow already made a hype package. He told us why he deserves to be that challenger after his recent wins, he asked what happens when a Walking Weapon or a Wrestling God meets a man. He answered it’s tag ’em and bag ’em for all.

  • Honor No More (Eddie Edwards & OGK w/ Maria and Kenny King) defeated The MCMG & Mike Bailey.

  • After the match, Mike Bailey and Alex Shelley exchanged words, with Chris Sabin having to get in-between them to cool things down. The Bullet Club came out and we got a full-on brawl between both of these teams. Magic Killer on Kenny King in the ring and the Bullet Club stood tall over Honor No More as Taven and Eddie watched on from the ramp.

  • Backstage, IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander told Gia Miller he didn’t have much time to celebrate but he had enough time because he’s ridden the highest highs and lowest lows. He told Moose he waited 6 months for his rematch, Moose only had to wait 5 days, so he’s going to have to deal with it. Gia asked if he was worried about the opponent Scott might pick. Josh said he was not worried at all before walking off.

  • The new AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie said, over the last year, she felt her passion and creativity held captive but, in Impact, she knows who the hell she is. She was attacked by Deonna from behind. She locks Taya in the armbar, Decay’s theme hit and they made their way to the ring, backing off Deonna. Taya got to her feet and we get a staredown between her and Rosemary before Tasha and Savannah Evans came out for their match with DECAY.

  • DECAY (Havok & Rosemary) defeated Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans.

  • “All About Me” with The Influence was interrupted by Gisele Shaw. Madison asked if she was stalking her because she saw her already once. Shaw said she thought she was lost because she could smell cheap perfume and jealousy. Tenille got in her face and Shaw asked if she’d like a match, Madison said she’d love one and set it up. Tenille said that’s all the time we have for “All About Me” this week. Madison told her everything is good because she’s going to handle that, no problem.

  • Vincent cut a promo and said that PCO walks into the Coliseum ready to battle monsters but, next week, they call this Coliseum the Monsters Ball. We saw PCO screaming JONAH.

  • Josh Alexander defeated Moose to retain the IMPACT World Championship in a rematch of Rebellion.

  • After the match, Tomohiro Ishii came out and got face to face with Josh and pointed at the Championship. Josh told him to go for it and they stood face to face to close out the show.

The Weekly “Enigma For a Nygma”

Who is EGV? That’s a mystery I just can’t solve… “SAMI on 07.05.22,” no, I don’t get it… Tom Hannifan said something warped is certainly on its way. He probably knows more than I… (Absolute irony… I’m sassy, French, but not silly to that point…)

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts/Awards of the Week

– The IInspiration

Cassie and Jessica have new dreams to chase out of the rings. We wish them good luck in the future.

Under Siege

Already 5 matches signed today, which is normal for a Special Event taking place next weekend.

Slammiversary

Twenty years exactly after the first TNA PPV, same day, same month, almost the same arena… That will be epic…

To be eNYGMAtic…

For a post-PPV Fallout episode, it was very good. Action-wise, it was great. Like I was saying in the intro, we are closing a chapter but not completely as PCO and JONAH war is not over, like Bullet Club and Honor No More one. The build-up for Under Siege was there, and more than there. Two weeks is nothing and the company seems to master its game plan. Promo-wise, it was slightly too much but we’re on a build-up phasis so that’s quite normal.
What or who is Lyssa? That was, in fact, the title I chose for the Rebellion review. It was fitting in a context of angriness and emotional wreckage. But the PPV was not like that. There was probably more angriness in this episode than in the PPV. This means Lyssa, the goddess of mad rage and destructive frenzy, was at the right place this week, and even next week, not on Saturday night.
On this “Nygma Wants a Sassy Labour Day Weekend” note, until next week (if I want), take care, stay safe, watch wrestling, and never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
